| U2 ranked
Ranking U2's studio albums | 13 | | U2 Songs of Innocence
Sadly, the one that I got for free was the one i listened to least. After my first 2 listens, i didnt hear any stand out tracks. So far, the Troubles is the only highlight. It's meh overall | 12 | | U2 No Line on the Horizon
This one seems like watered down How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Most of the songs are okay, even though the title track is pretty bad. Unknown Caller is a cool song though, and definitely the best off of it. | 11 | | U2 Pop
Either you love it or you hate it. About half of the songs are really good, and the other half are terrible. mofo, and Miami are some of U2's worst, while do you feel loved and gone are some of their best. this one's up for you to decide i guess, | 10 | | U2 October
Just bland. Nothing terrible, and a lot of them are kinda cool, but everything sounds the same from it. It's a boring listen. | 9 | | U2 Zooropa
This is a weird album. It has some of their best songs (Zooropa, First Time, Dirty Day), but songs like Numb, and Lemon (the first 2 singles) kinda ruin it a little bit) | 8 | | U2 All That You Can't Leave Behind
Aside from elevation, this has some of their best single choices. Beautiful Day is a masterpiece. Kite is the album's best song. After the first 5 songs, it gets a little bit boring and Peace on Earth and Grace are pretty boring songs. The bonus track Ground Beneath Her Feet is phenomenal though. | 7 | | U2 Rattle and Hum
I'm judging this on the 9 studio songs. It's a good album. All I want is you, angel of harlem and desire are radio staples, as they should be, Heartland is an underrated masterpiece. Good album. | 6 | | U2 How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
This is the best post achtung U2 album. Miracle Drug and City of Blinding lights are easily 2 of their best songs. Vertigo is a strong opening track, and Yahweh is a strong closer. High quality album | 5 | | U2 Boy
A great opening album. Some tracks are a little boring here and there, but strongpoints hold it together firmly. An cat dubh and the electric co. are two phenomenal songs from it. | 4 | | U2 Achtung Baby
This defined their new song really well. The best 90s U2 album, containing their iconic song One. Songs like the fly and ultraviolet are (simply put) ear orgasms. Awesome album. | 3 | | U2 The Joshua Tree
This is what most people think is their best album. It's really good as well, and Where the streets have no name is really cool. Bullet the blue sky has some cool guitar effect thing on it, and One Tree Hill is easily in U2's 5 best songs. This album is U2's most defining album. | 2 | | U2 War
This has a punkish feel to it. from Sunday Bloody Sunday's thudding drums, to the piano laced New Years Day, to the trumpet in Red Light, this album rules. Drowning Man is one of the most atmospheric songs U2 has ever made, and 40 has one of their strongest basslines. Also, Like a Song sounds really punkish. Awesome album | 1 | | U2 The Unforgettable Fire
(For me at least) the undisputed number 1. This one got me into them. From the atmospheric sound of a sort of homecoming to the echos in pride, to the richness of promenade, to the speed of wire, to the beauty in bad, to whatever makes the unforgettable fire such a cool song, it's easily the number 1. A sort of homecoming and the unforgettable fire are (in my opinion) the 2 best U2 songs. | |

02.22.15 | I'd switch 3 and 1 and put October higher, but other than that pretty much agreed | Muisc4Life26
02.22.15 | 4 is my favorite | chinesewhispers
02.22.15 | Yeah 4 is their best | Tunaboy45
02.22.15 | | NakedSnake
02.22.15 | Been listening to the new album more recently. Initially I dismissd it, but Volcano is growing on me. | lz41
02.22.15 | Greatest band of the post 80s era | ashcrash9
02.23.15 | Pop is underrated. | NakedSnake
02.23.15 | ^ for sure | JohnTheSavage
02.23.15 | I agree with almost everything you say about their songs on 1 and 2, but I'd put those below 3 and 4 for consistency reasons. Especially Unforgettable Fire, which has incredible stuff like the title track and Bad next to totally random shit like Elvis Presley and America. | JohnTheSavage
02.23.15 | Also to me none of their other songs beat the one-two punch of Where the Streets Have No Name and I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. I don't think I've ever heard another mainstream rock hit be as poetic or atmospheric as either of those. | KILL
02.23.15 | pop is terrible
1 is pretty sweet it just kinda hints at the dullness of what was to come
war is obv best | sapient
02.23.15 | 3 would be 1 for me | JohnTheSavage
02.23.15 | Pop is one of my favorites but yeah it's a total mess. Still more interesting/emotional than anything they did in 2000's, though not necesarily better. | KILL
02.23.15 | yea pretty much no point listening to any u2 after achtung | JimmyofSuburbia99
02.23.15 | pop would be higher, except about half of the album is total shit.
yeah, sort of homecoming is basically why unfogettable fire is 1. and the title track |
