| Tool Ranked (with Descriptions)
Tool is my favorite band, I love every album they've released. Here's my rTool rankings with descriptions. | 5 | | Tool Opiate
1992- Tool's first EP, this includes 6 tracks, 2 of which are live. It's a pretty decent listen,
Maynard has some nice screams on a few of the tracks as well. Overall it's
obviously not the same quality as their official LPs, but it's still pretty damn good.
Notable song is "Opiate". | 4 | | Tool Undertow
1993- Tool's first official LP. Undertow is a somewhat different style than most of Tool's
work, in that it's far more hard rock-ish and has a more traditional sound than the
latter 3 albums. Notable songs are "Sober", "Prison Sex", and "Bottom. | 3 | | Tool 10,000 Days
2006- Tool's most recent LP, having come out in 2006. 10,000 Days is their most
eccentric and progressive album. While this is a very very good album, I don't think
it has quite the quality of their best two albums. Notable songs are "Wings for
Marie/10,000 Days" "Rosetta Stoned" "vicarious" and "The Pot". | 2 | | Tool Aenima
1996- This was Tool's first HUGE album, and boy is it fantastic. This album is incredibly
angry and pessimistic. It is also heavily influenced by Maynard's late friend and
comedian Bill Hicks in several songs. All in all this was going to be a very hard album
to top. Notable songs are "Third Eye", "Aenima" "46 & 2", and "Pushit" | 1 | | Tool Lateralus
2001- Here it is, Tool's undeniable "Opus". Lateralus is an absolute beast of an album. In
my opinion Aenima and Lateralus are very similar in musical quality, but the emotion,
maturity, and full realization of their sound makes this album blow Aenima out of the
water. My personal favorite album of all time. if Tool manages to create another
album that is even half as good as this I will be incredibly suprised and satisfied.
Notable songs are "Lateralus" (Tool's best song), "Schism" "Parabola" and
"Reflection". | |

10.30.14 | Lateralus is superior as a whole, but for me, 10,000 Days has the best individual tracks. Vicarious, Jambi, The Pot, Wings
for Marie/10,000 Days, and Rosetta Stoned are among the best songs they have ever written. | MotoMusic
10.30.14 | I agree, but Schism and Lateralus are easily Tool's best songs. Rosetta Stoned and 10,000 Days are top 5 as well, but I find The Pot, while good, to be a tad overrated. | MotoMusic
10.30.14 | Vicarious and Jambi are probably the best tandem of two complete songs that Tool has made (Not including tracks that combine to make one song like parabol/parabola, I mean two separate songs that go well together). | Mythodea
10.30.14 | Reflection, though. | BlacKapes
10.30.14 | swap 3 and 4 | MotoMusic
10.30.14 | My top 5 is probably Lateralus, Schism, 10,000 Days, Rosetta Stoned, Reflection. | Mythodea
10.30.14 | No Pot? Darn! | MotoMusic
10.30.14 | I think Pot is good, but overrated. I wouldn't even have it top 10, and I've listened to each album at least 10 times. | TalonsOfFire
10.30.14 | Correct ranking! Gj about time someone got it right | Titan
10.30.14 | pretty good, but i'd swap 1 and 2
by a hair | DarkSideOfLucca
10.30.14 | 1 is 1 and 2 is 2, all that matters. The rest is awesome as well, but those first 2 | VinVal
10.30.14 | a tool list, this time with descriptions! |
