It's Been Real, Sputnik

Whether you've noticed it or not, I've been MIA from Sputnik a lot for the past few months. I feel like I should give some kind of explanation as to why, and why this lack of participation may not be temporary

Since the beginning of my senior year in high school, I've been reevaluating my outlook on a lot of things and how I had been living for the past three or so years. I'd say I was trying to "find myself" if that didn't sound pretentious lol. Anyways, I found that wasn't happy. I dedicated so much of my time isolating myself from the rest of my peers had not only left me feeling alien in a place I've lived in for years, but genuinely alone.

So I made it a goal for myself to spend my last year in high school in a whole new way. I've gotten way more involved in school theatre, I've been more social, and I've just tried to put myself out there, pushing myself to do things I would have never done in previous years. After nearly a semester, I'd say I made the right choice. I feel much less alone and genuinely embraced by the community around me.

I've also dedicated some time to planning out the next important step in my life: college! I applied to a couple universisites, mostly in-state for monetary reasons. But I'm officially going to be pursuing a degree in Journalism at Indiana University, my #1 choice! I'm genuinely really excited to move forward in life.

However, as all of this has been going on, I had pushed stuff like Sputnik to the side. And after this change, I've found I sort of prefer living like this. Not that my years spent on here were fruitless; far from it! If it weren't for this site I would've never gotten into music this passionately, as well as never discovered my pasison for journalism in the first place! Not to mention all the peeps on here that made it all worthwhile (s/o Clover, FullOfSounds, Potsy, Toad, the squaaad). I think my formative would not have been the same without Sputnik, for better or for worse.

Now I'm not going to be leaving the site forever. I'll probably still post occasionally. I'll be posting my fave albums of 2017 early next month, though it will most likely be as elaborate as previous years. This site will just be put on the back burner for who knows how long.

Last thing, I want to apologize for not posting something along the lines of this earlier. As a contributor, I probably shoud've given the reason as to why I wasn't producing any non-share some singles content, and even that was frequently delayed.
