This is no best-of list, it is just a bunch of records I've heard, that were RELEASED this month. Not the ones I've heard this month, but ones that were RELEASED this month that I've heard. Therefore, as the time goes, I'll be adding more items on the list, since I listen to stuff constantly. By the way, the names occasionally written under the comments are titles of songs that I recommend. If there are none written, it's either because I didn't like enough of them or because I can't point out a highlight. The Magic
Before I say anything I just want to state that before this album I have never ever heard a single Deerhoof song, therefore this album is my first coming to know the band. And as a starter it is fantastic. Right from the getgo it stikes you with a blast of oddball guitar and all the weirdness of the style of Art Rock they pull of throughout the whole album. The songs on the record aren't too insane to be Punk, but neither are they too shallow and dull. If anything, dullness is the last thing you can expect on here. Each song is quite similar, though they all have something different to each one. You might be put off a bit due of the weirdness that ensuits here, but I found it to be really unique and beautiful. However, said uniqueness does occasionally get slightly tidious, but never to a point of it being completely obnoxious. 7/10

What One Becomes
It takes a long time until anything happens on every song on here. But when it does, it's exactly that striking Doom Metal depressive braindrilling brutality as you would want it to be. So why then does it take so long until anything significantly important happens on this album? It seems to me that the band had ideas, but not enough for a whole full-length, so they just filled it up with either completely disordered and disorganised mess or just plain boring and uneventful dullness. 6/10

In a way it sounds a bit like The Jezebels, in that, it is quite formulaic in terms of Indie Pop, but damn, do they know how to hold a momentum on some of the tracks. Now, said momentum, together with catchiness and instrumental sweetness, is present, it is not present on the whole runtime. 6/10

An album full of mostly guitar driven songs (drums, precussion and saxophone are occasionally also included) and very well played at that. Though that swift guitarwork in combination with the vocals does make it sound a lot like The Kinks revival band, it is still a decent listen to a certain point. 6/10

The Kills try to sound hip and cool, but ultimately fail to deliver even a slightest memorable moment. Mostly it's the fault of the nonchalant-wannabe music that is not making the melodies justic at all, which is sad, because I know that The Kills can deliver a good performance if they want. 5/10 |

A fantastic alt-Jazz album that has a lot of charm and brilliant moments each complimenting one another. My only issue with the album are only those frequent tracks where the vocals pop up and the Electronica takes place of the great instrumentation. Why ar those necessary? 7/10

Turn To Gold
Diarrhea Planet put together a record that intrigued me from its intro track and then took an ultimate nosedive right after. This sounds like your typical noisy Punk that will not last in your head even for a minute, no matter how many times you listen. It's quite fascinating to hear how pretty solid instrumentation comes together with atrocious vocals to create an album full of dull, forgettable, bland and boring material. Diarrhea indeed. 4/10

Heliodon Over Petrified Evergreens
This is a very odd, atmospheric and somewhat relaxing record with a vast future potential. But it is as close to Black Metal as waffles have to meat. Why promote it as Black Metal/Post-Rock then? I don't know. But still, the album actually makes you feel like you are on some alien planet exploring flora and fauna. But it also carries a burden of the genre it is made in (Ambient in this case), it is just not as memorable as it could be. Next time maybe, try going a little more ambitious and classical (I'm not saying, you should go full Tim Hecker on it, but still). 6/10

Wriggle
clipping. deliver another fantastic EP under filled with typical clipping. trademarks, vocals only rapid intro, peculiar production and instrumentation, fast and instantly recognisable flow and smart lyrics (with the exception of one particular song on here). The only part that didn't sit well with me are probably the features sometimes. But most likely that is just me being too used to hear Daveed Diggs' voice. Still, the band delvers some heavy material that I will jam the hell out of this year, no doubt about that. 8/10

And it makes the whole experience not dreamy anymore, but sleepy. But I am willing to mostly forgive that for those few moments that were really good. 7/10

Odonis Odonis come through with a record that is extremely pleasing to hear, despite the rough electronic Dancepunk music. Nearly every cut on here makes you feel like a robot shaking and waving your body around in a technical breakdown. But be careful, the first track is a litle misleading, the rest of the album is not like that. 8/10

Netherlands have all the ingredients to rock your brains out, heavy production, powerful tunes and those Noise Rock influences, and they use all this with a precision and accuracy of a master chef. The only thing that I had on my mind after listening to this was: "Fuck yeah!". 8/10

Contact continue to amaze. It is not exactly your typical Post-Rock/Prog Rock album, though it surely follows a lot of typical signs of those genres. Contact managed to perfectionise their space journey and not repeat themselves from song to song. I definitely recommend this to Maserati fans, because it does bear a lot of similarities. 8/10

Maybe just that some moments on here hold such a beautiful momentum that only this genre can (the entirety of About A Bird). 7/10

And the production was not particularly the greatest, but it definitely had that grit and ballsiness that I enjoy and the solos were just killer. This album has a lot going for it. There's a good instrumentation, it is lyrically intriguing and Xenia's vocals are also a pleasant factor (kind of sound a little St. Vincent-ish to me). However, all-in-all I keep getting stuck in the same problem I have with almost every similar album. It's my own inability to get into the music. I see why anyone would love it, but I just simply can't, no matter how much I try...I think I will just give up. 6/10 |

From the positives I could only maybe admit that the vocals at times (though rarely) manage to bring up some sort of oddly enjoyable moment, in spite of being mostly mediocre. none of the songs have any sort of memorability to them, interesting flow or even an instrumetnal. It's tragically crap. 3/10 |

I understand why do so many people adore this album, but in the two hours runtime of the album, the songs don't always justify their lengths (some even almost reach a half-hour mark). A lot of the time I simply sat there admiring all the work that went into this, but wondering what exactly was it spent on. The Glowing Man is ultimately not as striking as To Be Kind, but still can leave its mark, though a vague one. 7/10

I enjoyed the record to a certain extent. The Black Sabbath meets Beastwars kind of vocals and the heavy instrumentation and production really left a positive impression. However, some of the tracks just don't strike as hard or as memorable as the others; they just sort of hang there with their good production and instrumentation and don't exactly do much effort to be any memorable. 7/10 |

There's Alot Going On indeed. Vic Mensa delivers a really sharply produced and delivered social commentary...well, while it is still the social commentary. Vic manages to drop pretty low the moment he tries to present his Pop appeal (looking at you New Bae and Liquor Locker). And he makes it all catchy and instantly memorable. I still can't differenciate Vic from anyone else, who's making this sort of Rap, but for what it is this album (however short) is a really compelling and interesting listen. 6/10

Surprisingly enough, K.A.A.N. has a fantastic flow and music. Almost everything on this album hit home with me, whether it's slightly Jazz-y production or K.A.A.N.'s slightly nasally, but extremely fast delivery. My only major issue are the pointless interludes. They don't add anything except for time to the record and I wouldn't have missed them if they disappeared. 7/10

Once I mentioned in one of my threads that if I had only one genre to choose to which I have to listen to my whole life that it would be Psychedelic Rock. Well, since then I started thinking about that hypothetical situation more and more and after Psych-Rock, Post-Punk and Black Metal I think I might add Death Metal on the list of genres I can't imagine my life without. I'm just leaving it here, because Vessels by Be'lakor is a great example of an album I'd miss in my life if I had chosen anything other than Death Metal. 8/10 |

Though Throttlerod perform a fairly decent job (as decent as you can get in Stoner Rock), but none of the songs have any sort of substance that would stick out to me, unfortunately. It's just a bunch of well-played Stoner tracks and that's it. 6/10 |

Would you like some hard, dynamic and occasionally Folk-inspired Black Metal? Well, here's one for you. They do sometimes overstay their welcome though. I mean, most of the tracks are over 10 minutes long and they don't really evolve into something different throughout the runtime. But for what it is, it's great. 7/10 |

Just guess how well could this one go. GOODmusic seems to have taken Desiigner randomly off a street, because this guy is not even 20 yet and he never released anything real, but he is already given a contract and a hit song. And because that said song was such a hit (somehow), the label saw it fit for him to come out with a record. But this kid has nothing to offer. Throughout this whole record he seems to jump around the exact same musical theme on songs that don't even sound like anything complete, more like teaser-snippets to the actual album that is stil in the works. It seems to me that the label gave him a deadline and then just released whatever he had ready. 3/10 |

Upbeat and wannabe-fun album, but ultimately still quite a generic listen. Hot Hot Heat thus failed to improve even on their final record and rather decided to stick to their usual harmless brand of Indie Synthpop. 5/10 |

Stranger Forms
Though vocally and lyrically there is still some room for improvement, Son Lux's flawless magnetic production is still one of the best today (in my opinion). Their sense for grandiosity and (somehow) simultaneous subtlety, all set amidst Jazz/Soul influenes, managed to wow me and make me wonder how much better would the Pop world of today be if their style of production was a trend. 8/10
