Favorite Albums Of 2009

Not a bad year. Mostly metal.
Axe to Fall

Heavy, chaotic. I mean, come on.
What We All Come to Need

The riffs on this thing.
8God Forbid

A very, very respectable metal record from someone I
didn't expect it from.
Thresholds of Imbalance

Helluva record. Disacknowledge is a song everyone
should give a listen to. The
way it begins, and oh my the way it ends.
6Between the Buried and Me
The Great Misdirect

Colors damn near ruined music for me. This isn't quite
on that level. Disease,
Injury....Madness has to be the best song they ever
wrote though. Those jam riffs
near the end are somethin' else.
Wavering Radiant

A suitable swan song for a band that never had a chance
to live up to its early
4Animals as Leaders
Animals as Leaders

Damn man. This was a pleasant surprise.
3Brand New

It isn't as good as The Devil and God, but I think the
songs are more enjoyable. If
that makes sense. I like it more, I know that for sure.
The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist

Came out of nowhere for me. As a fan of Tears for Fears and Deftones
there was
no way I wouldn't love this.
Crack the Skye

Just excellent. Ghost of Karelia for days.
