Deez 08.29.19	Couple of friends have been going to and have played this festival last few years and absolutely love it. I work all of August so theres no chance. Also my camping in a field days are over! Especially with the state of that place this year. Probably its best line up this year but also probably still not enough to Tempt me even if I could. I need more than 2/3 bands a day to justify roughing it in a field.

I was further forward and to the left slightly, but got pushed into the middle towards the end. It really was mental, the earth was so churned up you could smell the carbon in the air and it was so viscous occasionally your foot would get completely stuck before someone would charge into your upper half... I'm sure ankles were broken that evening

BenThatsMyJamin 08.29.19	@deezer It's one of a kind, you discover so many bands even if you don't know many as the organisers really know their stuff. I don't think I've come across another music festival that is so art-centric and that has such unanimously good feedback. It won small festival of the year last year and I think its almost a shoe-in now after this year's showing. Maybe you could get impromptu last minute tickets once you trust the weather forecast haha (why any Brit would do that I'm not sure).

Deez 08.29.19	Nah theyre not at all man. Maybe 4 bands off the top of my head (Pijn/Conjurer/Daughters/AA williams) Arctangent is post rock/math rock heavy. Theyre taking a blue print from RB no doubt even their posters but still a long way from it. Obviously its only new. So unfair comparison and they seem to be doing it well and people enjoying it. Good on them. Within their means too unlike some cough cough temples cough UK wise we dont have anything remotely like that anyway so theres not much competition. Damnation is a great one dayer.

BenThatsMyJamin 08.29.19	I didn't see much of him as was wary of his association with DsO and his stuff isn't hugely my thing to justify the art>artist defence, but obviously the crowd were loving it and it was a nice deviation from the majority of the acts.

Scheumke 08.30.19	That's a pretty sick line-up. Did you manage to see anything of Zeal & Ardor? Saw them last year at graspop and was the best band of the day easy.

BenThatsMyJamin 08.30.19	@scheumke yeah they were awesome, I didn't have much idea what to expect as I'd heard people lump them in with the blackgaze scene, but they were more like some kind of soulful alt-metal. They reminded me of a modern King's X in that way (minus the emo backing vocals), especially the front man - dude can really sing!

Scheumke 08.30.19	Yeah he has so much soul and passion in his voice it's insane. Its not really blackgaze, it started as a combination of satanic black metal and american slave music and became less satan, less slave and more soul. Check Devil is Fine if you want to hear more, thought I really enjoyed Stranger Fruit too.

JS19 08.30.19	I have been every year. Had tickets for this one too. My dad died on the Thursday morning. Really happy to hear that it was great for everyone that went even if to say it didn't for me was an understatement
