crowdkilling?

So I've been motivated to have this discussion because crowdkilling is being talked about a lot now around my town [newcastle, Aus] atm. Just a couple weeks ago the frontman of a local hardcore band got frustrated that no one was moshing and punched some 15 year old kid in the face while he was at the front. Not only that but a few national bands have seen it at their Newcastle shows and are expressing their frustration with it over social media, more and more often it seems its leaking out of hardcore and into related scenes too, seen it at punk, pop punk shows etc. So uhh ye opinion thread, is it justified, is it shitty, is it okay depending on the show? Thoughts?

Should point out that crowdkilling for people who dont know is not the same as pitting. Its when you while pitting (or sometimes not) rather than just randomly going ham you actively seek out someone to punch or kick, usually in the head, and usually when they least expect it. Some kid got knocked out at a show I was at last night, hence why i wanted to see other's opinions
