TOP TEN THRASH METAL ALL TIME (SO FAR)

I just came back from my Catholic young adult retreat I went to this weekend, and now it's time to wrap up tis topic with the all-time greatest albums of thrash metal! Every album ranked here is a 5/5 imo. Note: Ties are allowed, but only one album per band otherwise. I think it's too early to rank anything from the 2010's right now so that'll wait. Thus is why it's a "so far" list.
10Demolition Hammer
Epidemic of Violence

Few albums can compare to Demolition Hammer's Tortured Existence and Epidemic of Violence when delivering a crushing brand of death-tinged thrash metal delivered in truly bonecrushing fashion. Backed up by the best shout vocals of the genre and chunky delivery, they really bring down the hammer.
9Slayer
Reign in Blood

Probably the most sinister album to ever come out of the genre, Slayer's Reign In Blood is "death" metal without actually being death metal. The high speed tempos, shredfests, graphic lyrics, it's all gruesome shit, and it's an album with a charismatic feel that few albums can imitate.
8Voivod
Dimension Hatross

Prog. thrash done right, Dimension Hatross is about as strange as the genre got, but it's a very charming kind of strange, fusing odd-time signatures with out of this world themes and flawless musical delivery.
7Metallica
Ride the Lightning

Arguably the most revolutionary work of the genre, Ride The Lightning established the blueprint for hundreds of metal releases after it, so much that they copied it on Master of Puppets. Back it up with some legendary songs, and you've got a magnificent cornerstone of a once mighty genre.
6Anacrusis
Manic Impressions

AND SCREAMS AND WHISPER TIED.

Anacrusis probably made a subgenre of their own with their music; schizoid-tech-thrash. I don't think it's actually a real genre itself, but that's the "impression" you're given with their "manic" magnum opus and their equally good Screams And Whispers. They create atmosphere and different vibes with their music regardless of approach and display themselves as masterful craftsman in the genre.
5Sodom
M-16

Sodom's M-16 may be the only album from the 2000's on this list, but it's a damn good one at that. They've always borderlined the realm of death metal with their fierce take on thrash, and they make no exceptions here as they not only bring on the ferocious instrumental assault but also in its concept and lyrical content. They take on a tough subject in the Vietnam and outline crisp details in gruesome fashion. the album makes a profound statement just in its lyrics alone, and backed up by vigorous performances, you get one hell of an album in the process.
4Toxik
Think This

World Circus was already a fucking awesome album with some of the best vocals I've ever heard in the genre. They up the ante, lyrically and musically, to stunning results with Think This. They've always been great with hooks and extended, tech passages, and they nail that formula to perfection here. Addicting, accessible, technical, and catchy all at the same time.
3Heathen
Victims of Deception

Metallica's ...And Justice For All is an excellent album, but this is what it should've sounded like. The furnished production values of this record give off the ideal thrash metal sound: Thick, meaty guitar tone, beefy drum sound, audible if unimpressive basswork, and vocals in the right spot of the mix. This is backed up by flawless songwriting and instrumentation from start to finish. A pillar in the genre.
2Megadeth
Rust in Peace

Again, if Coroner was never cool, Rust In Peace would be the ideal number one thrash album. It seems overrated in many people's eyes, but on paper, it's the perfect formula of the genre. Packed with stone-cold classics (the two-punch opener "Holy Wars" and "Hangar 18," "Tornado Of Souls"), flawless tech-savvy guitarwork, diverse themes, and a strong rhythm section , RIP is thrash metal's greatest accessible work, techy enough to entice more demanding listeners while pleasing those who crave catchy material.
1Coroner
Mental Vortex

AND NO MORE COLOR TIED. If you've been following my lists, you may have seen this coming, but to those not familiar with Coroner, go listen to them now. In their respective genre, they are out of this world with not just their musicianship (mesmerizing solos, wicked riffs, addictive bassplaying, harsh vocals, and smart drumming) but their gnack for songcraft. They have a firm grip on odd-time signatures, grooves, shredfests, and everything in between, and they deliver this timeless take on a classic formula with two of the genres' greatest masterpieces in No More Color and the infamous Mental Cortex, the former being a balls-out thrash album stacked with riff after riff and the latter being a twisted take on atmospheric music. Not everyone has to agree with them being the greatest band in the genre, but they are undoubtedly the quintessential tech-thrash band and a cornerstone of legendary thrash metal done right.
