AmericanFlagAsh 01.23.24	Thoughts? Why won't the academy nominate animated films for Best Picture even when they deserve it?

Scheumke 01.24.24	Going to see The Boy and the Heron tonight, wonder if it can live up to all the other beauties. Yeah not having any of these even nominated is criminal. How was the Lion King not nominated though smh.
Zac124 01.24.24	Princess Kaguya losing best animation to Big Hero 6 was criminal honestly. Also, the 2017 awards snubbing Your Name and Silent Voice while Boss Baby won is probably the lowest point of the oscars at least in terms of animation.

TheSonomaDude 01.25.24	The pixar/disney award Pretty hit or miss, i think they only get it right when it's blatantly obvious. but Up has always been pretty overrated imo and Fox should've gotten the win. Monster House should've won over Happy Feet. Brave was the worst of the 5 films nominated that year, should've gone to Paranorman, Frankenweenie, or The Pirates.
Scheumke 01.25.24	Loved The Boy and the Heron! Saw it in Japanese with English subs which I didn't expect in a dutch theater but a very welcome surprise! Movie is gorgeous and thematicaly very strong with one of my favorite Miyazaki endings. Also, Joe Hisaishi not being nominated for an 2024 Oscar while John Williams is for ffing Indiana Jones is a warcrime.

BlazinBlitzer 01.26.24	The Wind Rises is absolutely one of Miyazaki's best. I have yet to get to Boy and the Heron, especially if it's gonna be his final project (for the fiftieth time).
