Hybrid

Genre: Trip-Hop

Review: Pretty ethereal sounding trip-hop that stays humble. Her vocals were adventurous but didn't really work for me most of the time. The organic yet sheen production was a plus. And the songs were pretty good well-written songs overall. Potential grower

Sinister

Genre: Black Metal

Review: This is some solid ass kicking bm in the vein of Darkthrone, I had heard their debut awhile back and remember liking it. This was no different. A lot of tasty riffs and brutality. It could do more to stand out from the herd but what they do they do well and I'm interested in hearing more.

Двадцать Три и Три

Genre: IDM, Ambient Techno

Review: The opener made me think I was going to be listening to an amateur project. Midway through track 2 I realized I was wrong. This guy knows what he's doing. There are very dense layers of weaving melodies and rhythmic sputters to keep the groove going through out. To spread things out a bit there are some more light and airy tunes in the mix that work well in establishing variety. I think overall it was very enjoyable. Maybe not as memorable as it could be but I shall check again in the near future. Nice rec.

Review: Pretty fantastic balance of aggression and ominous atmosphere here. I'll be listening to more Thou soon thanks!

Lightless Walk

Genre: Grindcore? Noise Rock?

Review: This one really does transcend genre tags for me. And while I respect the hell out of it for that, I still have to be in the mood for something this aggressive and in your face. About halfway through I got fatigued and then A Good Life started and was a nice moment to catch my breath. There are definitely aspects of this that I thoroughly enjoy. In essence,I can listen to this enjoyably in segments or when I'm really in the mood for it.

Teeny Shiny

Genre: Experimental, Noise Rock

Review: Eccentric spazzy spacey jazzy? All admirable characteristics for me and as they blend together in confusion throughout this release, I couldn't help but continually wonder why I didn't like it more. Might check out more from them but yeah this needs time..

Genre: Acid Techno

Review: A lot of acid techno can sound dated or cheesy but when done right it's one of my favorite styles of music. I thought this was really well done and got me in a nice trancey state. Definite stand out for me was Arrested Development but there was a nice consistency to the album. Will definitely revisit soon.
