Siren Charms Ranked
yeah this is their worst album to date, agreed. but it has a feew decent songs on it which are worth a listen.
2,5/5 overall for me |

When The World Explodes:
Song begins explosive (!) with powerful vocals, stakkato riffs and slides into a soothing chorus with middle range female vocals and deep vocs from anders. sounds pretty sweet to my ears.
after the second chorus fades a synth interlude follows with leads into the third chorus with high female backround vocals thrown in. i have to admit that this song has some kind of atmosphere to it.

Dead Eyes:
really good chorus here. anders doesn't get on your nerves as much as elsewhere on the album, and the riffs are great. this would be an average song on any other in flames record but its a highlight here. i like the triumphant part which starts in the beginning of the third minute.

filtered truth:
an relatively uninteressting song. at least i thought it would be, but the chorus kicks ass and the fast pasted guitar solo really entertains. good official closer.

Siren Charms:
interresting chord progressions on the title track. the chorus is pretty catchy.

monsters in the ballroom:
this begins surprisingly exiting. it has a nice pacing to it which holds your attention. the chorus is not that good tho.

Paralyzed:
i actually like the synth leads in the verses. i'm sure that many people hate them tho. other than that pretty uninteressting song. they found the wasteland.

With Eyes Wide Open:
again nothing really interessting here aside from the decent chorus. anders vocals are not to bad on it so this could be seen as a good thing. sounds very radio friendly.

In Plain View:
the opening track begins good but anders turns it into shit as soon as he opens his mouth. don't really like the chorus either although it has some powerful elements to it. but interresting drumwork from daniel in the verses.

Rusted Nail:
i hated this song first and i still down like it much, but in the context of the album it sounds decent. it has trademark new in flames riffs on it as well as some annoying modern metal shredds. this has one of the few guitar solos you actually can point to immediatly. anders vocals are the major downpoint to this track. the first chorus just sounds like shit piled on shit. the following ones are catchy tho.

become the sky (bonus track):
annoying vocs from anders, thats my first impression. the chorus is somewhat of a guity pleasure, sounds shitty but somewhat catchy. pardon me, its just bad. but anders can hold some long notes on here. overall its good that this is a bonus song. still better then the last two ones tho.

Everything's Gone:
this could be straight out of sense of purpose but with terrible cleans thrown in left and right. the chorus has a riff that probably should sound like a evil slayer riff but it doesn't work out. it just sounds messed up in a bad way and this track has nothing to offer other than the average chorus.

Through Oblivion:
this song is nothing but an insult thrown in slow motion to your face. the band must've been on a bad trip when they wrote this song. the melodies are really annoying and anders vocals are especially irritating and atrocious. it can't get worse than that. its not even fitting for radio thanks to anders terrible work.
