I HATE (HATE!) Rivers. He's all UGH and yucky and BLEGH and GRRRRR. BLEGH! But Mr Rochester yes yes yes please total hottie and also a jerk and a manipulative creep but also very much a total hottie. That last part is difficult to get through indeed. But there's something about it that makes the ending even more satisfying.
