It's like any kind of regular social gathering; if you've got the time and the desire, you show up, if not, you move on or hang out at home and come around some other time. I do think activity has certainly decreased--a phenomenon due to the hack attack and also just the diminishing importance of forums in the new age of social media--but the community is as strong and tight-knit as ever. And while I may disagree with what gets popular here sometimes or what others decide to put up on the front page, well, hell, that's life ain't it? I don't expect to match evenly with everyone's tastes; that's the beauty of art. And if sometimes people need a quick fix of familiar sounds, who am I to judge? We've all got comfort sounds. 'Tis life.

Also, RYM is such a shit place for some musical genres that are just hated there. A place like RYM is just too big for creating a tight knit community
