Hardcore punk influences

Thought recently that HP was one of the most influential genres in rock music
1Rites of Spring
Rites of Spring

Hardcore - > Emocore - > All emo subgenres (screamo, midwest etc.)
2Slint
Spiderland

Hardcore - > Post-hardcore - > Slint - > Post-rock (bands like Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, and hundreds of their clons)
3Neurosis
Through Silver in Blood

Hardcore - > Sludge Metal - > Atmospheric Sludge (Neurosis initially) - > 80% of post-metal
4Mayhem
Deathcrush

Early black metal acts (Hellhammer for example) were heavy influenced by hardcore
5Death
Symbolic

Other extreme metal genres that I'm not much into, but they were influenced by hardcore as well I guess (thrash, death, grind etc.)
6Converge
Jane Doe

Metalcore
