protokute 08.21.20	For me, it's basically rock music heavily influenced by 60's artists like the Byrds, Beatles, Kinks, and the Beach Boys, with big melodic hooks, nice and well constructed vocal harmonies, jangling or punchy guitars and a more energetic delivery. It's the pop sensibility for making awesome melodies and vocal harmonies like those from the 60's but with more.... power?

protokute 08.21.20	hummmm It's been a very long time I've heard of Montreal, and the only album I heard was The Gay Parade, and although it has an excellent pop sensibility, I think it lacks some of the rawness and crunchiness from Power Pop.

protokute 08.22.20	@ghandi I think they are tbh, the only album I admit I stretched the concept of Power Pop was with Felt, and I'm gonna change it for something else. For XTC, as I said on the list description, Skylarking isn't Power Pop per se, but some songs on it, are very close to Power Pop perfection and are very representative of the genre (Earn Enough For Us for example) @banana thanks for the support man ;)

protokute 08.22.20	Thanks for the recs, man! The Go Betweens are really good I think Jesus and Mary Chain even at their sunniest phase is still very melancholic and a bit gloomy for it to be considered Power Pop.

protokute 09.14.23	I'd like to recommend for anyone that digs 60's inspired stuff and Power Pop to listen to this obscure song from the Nashville Ramblers (if you haven't already): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBRaw9CNUZE those melodies and harmonies just hit all the possible spots for me. Really an amazing tune, and very likely to be on maybe my top 10 favorite songs ever, it's that good (for me)
