02.08.12 | Never been a big fan of melodeath, especially of the bands considered as some of the "greats". There are a few young bands these days I'm liking though, such as Wretched and Woe Of Tyrants but the famous 90's albums have never done it for me. |
DieDead
02.08.12 | Well hey i respect your opinion but man that actually sounds insane to me. Some of the most Beautiful music i have ever heard. |
Hyperion1001
02.08.12 | i like 1 album here |
DieDead
02.08.12 | Which one? |
Hyperion1001
02.08.12 | carcass, and i dont even like it a lot |
DieDead
02.08.12 | Oracle Moon? |
DieDead
02.08.12 | I knew you were going to say Carcass |
PGST3
02.08.12 | I really like Wretched too, and Woe is from home town. But I really like In Flames and At The Gates too. Never got too deep into the rest though, so I don't really have a big opinion.

02.08.12 | "Garden of Shadows - Oracle Moon
One of the best melo death albums ever."
Agreed |
DieDead
02.08.12 | I just listen to Oracle Moons title track that was pretty good, but i think Garden of Shadows is going to take some time to grow on me. Vox are a little weird to me. |
Funeralopolis
02.08.12 | pretty generic list |
Yazz_Flute
02.08.12 | Yeah this is really generic. But they're all good so I guess I can't complain. |
Yazz_Flute
02.08.12 | Besides 4, haven't heard that one. |
DieDead
02.08.12 | Its actually good. Check it out

DieDead
02.08.12 | Yeah i am pretty much going to try to get into Oracle Moon. I will say the guitar work is amazing! Are they Swedish? Finish? |
Trebor.
02.08.12 | great list |
DieDead
02.08.12 | USA! Holy crap did not expect that from Americans. |
Scoot
02.08.12 | needs more autumn leaves |

Yazz_Flute
02.08.12 | Here's some recs:
The Absence - From Your Grave
Arsis - A Celebration of Guilt
Autumn Leaves - As Night Conquers Day
Be'Lakor - The Frail Tide
Dan Swano - Moontower
Darkest Hour - Deliver Us
Disarmonia Mundi - Fragments of D-Generation
Disillusion - Back to Times of Splendor (the term melo-death doesn't really do it full justice, but it's one of my favorite metal albums of all time)
Dissection - Storm of the Lights Bane (Melodic death/black metal)
Edge of Sanity - Purgatory Afterglow
Gwynbleidd - Nostalgia
Hypocrisy - Virus
Ikuinen Kaamos - Closure
In Mourning - Shrouded Divine
In Vain - The Latter Rain
Kalmah - 12 Gauge
Skyfire - Mind Revolution
Torchbearer - Warnaments
Unmoored - Indefinite Soul-Extension
That should keep you bust for a while.

DieDead
02.08.12 | Thanks for the recs. I cant believe i forget Deliver Us. Fuck Opeth i am replacing it with that. |
DieDead
02.08.12 | I thought Dissection was more Melodic Black Metal. |
DieDead
02.08.12 | I have actually listened to Storm of the lights bane, unhallowed is the best song they ever wrote. |
Yazz_Flute
02.08.12 | Thought of another one: Thurisaz - Scent of a Dream
Dissection are pretty much a melodic-death metal band that utilize some techniques found commonly in black metal. And I always thought Unhallowed was like the worst song on SOTLB. |
DieDead
02.08.12 | Really? Man i really love the melodic verse riff. I even learned how to play that riff. Its so sweet. |
Yazz_Flute
02.08.12 | It's the least dynamic song on the album and as such the material presented on it don't justify a 7+ minute run-time.
It's not bad though, the other songs are just much more interesting in my opinion. |
