Tomboy
10-02 at Brooklyn Masonic Temple. After the madness of Electric Zoo and the more trendy ATP (see previous
lists), it was nice to hear something familiar. Noah Lennox gave as much a sensory overload as he's been
known to deliver and any thoughts of Tomboy's often tame nature taking over his set were instantly quelled.
Always a pleasure to see Panda Bear in action. |

10-06 at Webster Hall: Very solid. The heavy bass really augments his live set. Though I don't think he is
the revolutionary and absolutely brilliant musician that some think he is, denying that he is super talented
and great to listen to is just silly. |

To the Stars
10-09 Deadmau5' first opener was originally billed as Alex English, who does a lot for the rave culture in New
York, but Feed Me was certainly a huge upgrade. The artist sometimes known as Spor knows how to put on a
good show and is one of the most consistent acts around. |

X Rated
10-09 Deadmau5' second opener delivered the filthstep. In fact few people are as known to deliver quality
filthstep as Jeff Abel. Still, especially without frequent collaborator Datsik, it was all in waiting for .. |

10-09 at Roseland Ballroom. Zimmerman sold out the sizable standing venue for a whopping 6 straight
nights by what seemed in large part like a market yourself toward 16 year old kids kind of way. Lots of young
people all buzzing up and down and all around, but Zimmerman still does it in a way that makes it all
awesome. With so many hits off his last 3 LPs, Deadmau5 can get you going with such ease it's not really
fair. |

10-14 at Webster Hall. I've heard better from Anders, but even when he's off he delivers a solid and chill
show. And with 'The Last Resort' to fall back on, it's hard to complain |

10-14 What Wolfgang's opener lacked in original work he makes up for in
comfort on the stage. i liked him almost as much as Wolfgang

10-14 at Webster. After All I hear about him, I was pretty disappointed. He's a fun time and all, but like
Boys Noize, I don't understand why he's selling out venues at will. |

Looping State of Mind
10-15 Simply by having the foresight and wherewithal to put a name on a list i saw an incredible amount of
fantastic bands for free in brooklyn ( http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2011/09/creators_projec_2.html
). If I had known the Field was gonna be there, I would not have simply caught their (he was with a band) last
2 songs. Though I was happy I heard some of it. |

There Is Love in You
The only creator's project set I caught every last bit of and oh was it worth it. Stunning highs echoed
underneath an archway on a beautiful day. Encoring with 'Sing' was fantastic and really made me appreciate
his latest album even more. |

Drift
Instead of Florence + the Machine and an Aesop Rocky that had thusfar only irritated me (I'm still not sold,
but haven't given up on Aesop yet), I decided on seeing Nosaj Thing for the 3rd time. He's so innovative,
down to earth, upbeat but chill. His remixes and his live set were somewhat predictable because I'd heard it
before, but instead of making me bored, it just gets me excited for what else this guy can do. |

Parallax
I only caught a few of Cox's songs, but from what I heard, I seemed to enjoy it even more than when I hear
Deerhunter on August 23rd. Also I saw Justice play 3 songs before the cops shut down the party. The French
duo were really working us up too and make me kinda wanna splurge on tickets when they hit Terminal 5 in a
couple months. |

In The Mountain In The Cloud
10-20 at Terminal 5. For a band that one of my friends likes that I normally disagree with on taste, this was
a very solid set. Their cover (or did they change things a bit?) of Oasis' 'Champagne Supernova' was so corny
it was fairly adorable. |

ISAM
10-25 at Brooklyn Masonic. Absolutely massive show that sees stunning visuals build upon the already
sprawling album. A carefully constructed visual panel that looked like stairs that were too big to climb,
images sprawled in and out and all across ranging from arctic voyages, to exploding earthquakes. This thing
was a force of nature to be reckoned with. |

39 Song Pop Mashup
10-31 at Webster. I came for the gunslinging 19 year old named Porter Robinson but passed out after being
super impressed by the even younger 16 year old slinging Madeon. Super impressed with this guy's ability.
So much so that I look forward to seeing him again with a few years of experience under his belt. |

Oi Oi Oi
11-18 at Webster. I like Boys Noize just fine, but for the amount of praise lavished upon them, I wasn't too
thrilled. |

8 Diagrams
12-18 at Best Buy Theater. Maybe I thought I paid too much money, maybe it was the white trash long
island vibe, maybe it's cause they were missing Ghostface Killah and Raekwon, maybe I'm biased against the
Wu .. All I know is that I was actually kindof annoyed at a lot of the parts and even in some of my favorite
tracks, I heard a lot less awesome beat and a lot more yelling. Wouldn't go out of my way to see them
again. |

Trans-Continental Hustle
12-30 at Terminal 5. Such an innovative and electic band. These guys put on a fantastic punk show full of a
lot of energy and interesting sounds. A fresh and eastern-like take on what the Clash were doing a while
back this was high energy fun which was refreshingly not electrobabble. Recommended for anyone who likes a
punk style mosh pit. |

Vicious Delicious
12-31 at Best Buy Theater. "Wake me up before I change again. Remind me the story that I won't get
insane" .. When the ball drop it's as if everything went numb and the overstimulated drugged out audience
just took it in wild overstimulated euphoria. Perfect end to a wild fucking year. |
