NWOAHM666
11.16.11 | I had to edit this list three times. |
FruityCatOfDoom
11.16.11 | It was a pretty legit list except for a some shit here and there. Bring me the horizon should never be on above Electric Wizard. |
NWOAHM666
11.16.11 | ^Dude. Converge. Should. Not. Be. Here. But you're right. |
stabbler
11.16.11 | "heaviest"? |
BallsToTheWall
11.16.11 | Random shit everywhere but anything with Discharge, Rammstein, Black Flag and At The Gates wins. |
Skweetis
11.16.11 | 49,42 are good albums but they shouldn't be on here. |
NWOAHM666
11.16.11 | "49,42 are good albums but they shouldn't be on here."
And someone has to explain me why The Beatles are harder than Mayhem. |
FruityCatOfDoom
11.16.11 | IVE GOT BLISTERS ON ME FINGERS |
geng
11.16.11 | It's a pretty subjective list concept really as it's so hard to define what counts as "heavy", especially when you take into account the period of time an album comes from. That said, it's hard to believe that Slipknot made the 4th heaviest album of all time. |
stabbler
11.16.11 | especially that slipknot album |
NWOAHM666
11.16.11 | "it's hard to believe that Slipknot made the 4th heaviest album of all time."
It's FAAAAAAAR harder to believe that Jane Doe is the 3rd heaviest album of all time. |
stabbler
11.16.11 | perhaps i am misunderstanding the definition of heavy |
zxlkho
11.16.11 | ...so what does heavy mean again? |
ApplicationToHeaven
11.16.11 | jane doe is fucking heavy what are you talking about? |
FruityCatOfDoom
11.16.11 | i think converge is heavy and slipknot is heavy but not heavy enough to be on the heaviest albums of all time with all these other heavy albums. |
geng
11.16.11 | Also, it's Kerrang so its automatically null and void. |
NWOAHM666
11.16.11 | My personal opinion about Jane Doe is that it is extremely overrated either in terms of quality or in terms of sonority. The top ten should have more old-school death metal.
And why is there no Deicide or Crowbar here? |
FruityCatOfDoom
11.16.11 | wait converge is heavy enough to be with the heaven albums and slipknot shouldnt be but they are heavy.
heavy. |
Keyblade
11.16.11 | where the fuck is Through Silver in Blood? |
zxlkho
11.16.11 | "where the fuck is Through Silver in Blood?"
YES |
Deviant.
11.16.11 | "49,42 are good albums but they shouldn't be on here."
They shouldn't be on here only if you're deluded enough to assume that "heavy" automatically = metal. The Fat Of The Land is probably the heaviest electronic album ever made |
Tyrael
11.16.11 | lol 21 |
Dreamflight
11.16.11 | Yeah, Neurosis absence is quite odd.
The concept of heavy it's tricky, but an interesting list nonetheless. |
Pharoh
11.16.11 | I'm pretty sure Kerrang had to put bmth there, they are like best friends.
Also, didn't know The Beatles have ever been considered Heavy.. |
Timmons
11.16.11 | definitely heavy, its more like heaviest albums from lots of different genres. it can't all be death metal or hardcore, it would be a bit boring. all in all i love this list. |
Oathbreaker
11.16.11 | So yeah, this is full of fail. |
MasBarHigeuoris21
11.16.11 | My personal opinion about Jane Doe is that it is extremely overrated either in terms of quality or in terms of sonority. The top ten should have more old-school death metal [2]
At least one album by Death should have made it on the list. Don't understand how they can make this list and not include anything by the Melvins. I would argue for Neurosis but I can understand how they are not included. Even their heaviest albums Through Silver in Blood and Times of Grace are not all that heavy. |
ApplicationToHeaven
11.16.11 | also this list needs terrifyer |
Dreamflight
11.16.11 | The Beatles self-titled has Helter Skelter, which was probably the heaviest thing back then. |
geng
11.16.11 | "Also, didn't know The Beatles have ever been considered Heavy.."
Bear in mind that in their heyday they were the heaviest thing around. Although the term "heavy" probably wouldn't have been used at the time. |
Eskate87
11.16.11 | is this list for real? so many albums do not belong. |
TheNotrap
11.16.11 | The "Heaviest" concept is very generic in this list....
I agree with some choices like Reign in Blood, Master of Reality, Scum, Sounds of the Animal Kingdom, Bathory, Scream Bloody Gore, Altars of Madness or Slowly We Rot but if I have to pick the heaviest Metallica or Megadeth I will choose Ride the Lightning and PSBWB.
Bolt Thrower's Realm of Chaos, Repulsion's Horrified, Possessed's Seven Churches or Neurosis Through Silver in Blood should also be here. |
FromDaHood
11.16.11 | Lol nirvana |
stabbler
11.16.11 | 46 ----> embarrassing |
Aids
11.16.11 | The White Album is heavy? What? In what sense do they mean "heavy" cause I don't get that from that album at all. |
Motiv3
11.16.11 | i saw this hahahaha this is why kerrang is not respected by genuine music fans. |
anarchistfish
11.16.11 | " The top ten should have more old-school death metal"
but then the list would just be boring. I can see and respect how they've tried to introduce some diversification here and made it more interesting.
42, 39 and 13 made me lol though
apparently Hell To Pay is the heaviest track on Jane Doe as well |
Recspecs
11.16.11 | What the actual fuck is Bring Me The Horizon doing on here? |
anarchistfish
11.16.11 | keeping in mind that heavy=/=good |
Bleekill
11.16.11 | man they fucked up hard
how can they have sunn and electric wizard on the list, yet so fucking low.
Off the top of my head, this list needs Eyehategod, Melvins, Boris, Earth,Burning Witch, Godflesh and Lightning Bolt |
pedro70512
11.16.11 | The White Album is conceptually heavy I guess. Like, it's reeeeall deep, man.
Gojira, Bathory, and At the Gates are win. |
pmmets07
11.16.11 | weird list |
FruityCatOfDoom
11.16.11 | needs moar opeth |
anarchistfish

YetAnotherBrick
11.16.11 | "It's FAAAAAAAR harder to believe that Jane Doe is the 3rd heaviest album of all time."

and wtf is BMTH doing on here. I'm not just saying that cuz they suck, I'm saying that cuz that album is like, not heavy at all. |
paxman
11.16.11 | Not heavy enough |
paxman
11.16.11 | Korn is so heavy they have like three bassists |
Skweetis
11.16.11 | The fat of the land isn't the heaviest electronic album ever made, take a chill pill Dev. |
Maniac!
11.16.11 | 15, wooo |
Metamorphosis
11.16.11 | Interesting list. A lot of these are actually pretty "heavy." |
NWOAHM666
11.16.11 | "Does this guy ever make a list of his own, or does he work for some shitty hard rock magazine?"
The third. |
Days of Future Passed
11.16.11 | Kinda surprised by 49 |
BaseballJames
11.16.11 | Half-expected Bullet for My Valentine to top the list... |

Find me another commercially successful electronic album that is then |
UnnamedOcean
11.17.11 | DU HAST |
FearThyEvil
11.17.11 | At least 15 got recognized. |
tarkus
11.17.11 | Needs Electric Wizard |
Ovrot
11.17.11 | needs more doom in general

whywontyoudie
11.17.11 | F#A# Infinity should be on this list. |
misterhustle24
11.17.11 | can someone please tell me how the fuck Rammstein is heavy? |
FearThyEvil
11.17.11 | can someone please tell me how the fuck Rammstein is heavy?
I'm assuming you skipped over The Beatles being on this list. |
Deviant.
11.17.11 | "can someone please tell me how the fuck Rammstein is heavy?"
If they were attempting to cover a wide variety of genres I can kinda see how Rammstein might have ended up on here. But I would have chosen Mutter personally, that wall of sound production is pretty impressive |
Josh D.
11.17.11 | Good joke list or something. |
ZombicidalMan
11.17.11 | 17 should be number 1, if the list is unchanged from these picks. |
Destructerator
11.17.11 | Nobody likes to see classic albums at the top of a list like this. |
NWOAHM666
11.18.11 | "3 should be 1"
You lost all consideration for that. 3 shouldn't be here.
(see?) |
rockandmetaljunkie
12.17.11 | lol 39 heavier than 48 ?
The list is hilarious. |
Rootsa
04.25.14 | Eater of Birds by Cobalt #1 nuff said. This list is a joke! |
