Crysis' Flawless Metal Albums

Sometimes a band just gets everything right....
1Agalloch
Pale Folklore

Even if I try to be as picky as I can, I can't find anything bad about this album. A perfect fusion of Black Metal and Folk Metal make one of my favorite albums ever, it's not so much music as it is an experience.
2Swallow The Sun
The Morning Never Came

This amazing album put Finland's Swallow The Sun on the map as one of the best modern Doom Metal bands. The create a shockingly heavy sound, but still manage to fit in clean vocals.
3Burzum
Hvis Lyset Tar Oss

This is a trip into the mind of a madman. Burzum's brainchild Varg Vikernes may be a lunatic in real life, but he created a Black Metal masterpiece with this one, the atmosphere he creates is suffocating.
4Dissection
Storm Of The Lights Bane

Black Metal + Melodic riffs = Genius. Dissection managed to carve their names into Metal history with only 3 albums, this one being easily their best. Sadly, Dissection will never write another song. RIC Jon.
5Ulver
Bergtatt

Another great combination of Folk Metal and Black Metal, except this one shows the rawness of the Black Metal influences much more. Certainly Ulver's best work, a flawless album indeed.
6Wintersun
Wintersun

Jari really hit the nail on the head with this album. Especially since this is a debut album, it shocked many people with it's sophistication, but then again, the former Ensiferum guitarist/vocalist knows exactly what he's doing.
7Children Of Bodom
Follow The Reaper

The pinnacle album of the wildly popular Children Of Bodom, this album shows probably some of their best guitar work, and contains some of their most well known songs.
8Emperor
Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk

Some Emperor fan's may debate whether this album or "In The Nightside Eclipse" is Emperor's best, but my vote goes to Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk. Surrounding the guitars and absolutely jaw-dropping drumming is the backbone of this album, the great keyboard and synth work. Black Metal at it's finest here.
9Opeth
Blackwater Park

It's Opeth. I should end my explanation there but I won't. Opeth can go from great clean vocals and acoustic guitar right down to death metal screams and thundering guitars and drums without you even noticing the transition. It all just melts together.
10Dark Tranquillity
The Gallery

Probably the best Melodic Death Metal album ever released, The Gallery is the best album of the "big 3" Gothenburg albums released in 1995 (the others being "Slaughter Of The Soul" and "The Jester Race"). Every song on here contains insane riffing and Stanne's vocals are simply flawless.
