| Mad Decent Block Party 2011
Awesome FREE show at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan.
Hitting Philly on Aug 7th, Chicago on the 13th and LA on the 20th | 1 | | Po Po Kill Tonight
Started the afternoon right (I missed Baio of Vampire Weekend
unfortunately). Fairly nondescript though. | 2 | | Bosco Delrey Everybody Wah
Kicking things up a notch. | 3 | | The Hood Internet Trillwave
Masters of the mashup maybe. Some of their stuff is fantastic (Weezer vs
Glass Candy was particularly memorable) but as with all mashups, you run
the risk of ruining the spirit of the original work. | 4 | | Maluca El Tigeraso
Chick with real personality. Very much in the M.I.A. vein with more of a
dubstep spin. She's a brooklyn native and brought it for her hometown. | 5 | | Mehdi Lucky Boy
This guy is a real professional. His surprise appearance was a welcome
addition to an already energetic show. | 6 | | Zeds Dead Rude Boy
Absolutely sick set. Mosh pits were formed out of thin air that made all of
punk island look like childs play, synthesized sounds that seemed
unfathomable reined terror upon all and a sick remix of 'paradise circus'
closed it out (thankfully his barf inducing remix of pyramid song was not
played). Seriously, see this guy when he comes to your town. | 7 | | Gang Gang Dance Eye Contact
These guys produced a sensational album (no one's denying that), but they
don't have the energy to really rein terror or even captivate an audience
like Claude VonStroke or Zeds Dead. Still, they were a nice breather and
the music was of course quite good nonetheless. | 8 | | Claude VonStroke Beware of the Bird
Dirtybird brought it. | |

07.31.11 | Don't expect this to get much play here given that it's all dubsteppy and so no one on the site knows anything about any of this. But seriously check the tour out if you live in Philly, Boston or LA cause free shows don't get much better.

07.31.11 | yeah my girlfriend used to live in toronto where theyre from and she's seen them so many times as they are the resident DJ's at a weekly dubstep event there called Bassmentality. she said theyre just insane live and really nice guys in person too | Liberi Fatali
07.31.11 | Claude VonStroke, cool. | Liberi Fatali
07.31.11 | Now gonna go listen to his Fabric mix, last four or so tracks including Aundy are sweet. | Pyosisified
07.31.11 | 7 is pretty good | aok
07.31.11 | i had to add claude vonstroke to the database before making this list, which i find fairly ridiculous | NickelbackFTL
07.31.11 | 3 was the opening act for The Thermals/Matt & Kim when I went to see them about a month ago. Mashups were cool, but the crowd really didn't seem to get into it (it was a shitty crowd anyway though, they couldn't even get into the thermals) and they went on a little long. | NickelbackFTL
07.31.11 | Was really disappointed when they didn't play "The xx Gonna Give it To Ya". Best mashup ever. | aok
07.31.11 | i can agree with what you said about the hood internets completely. also, somewhat shocked this is featured -- someone must like me up there |
