| Ride The Lightning Improved
i was getting really bugged by the postion of fade to black in the track listing and started to think where it would be better off. then i thought i might as well do the whole thing. | | 1 | Metallica
For Whom The Bell Tolls
They almost got it in the right place at number two, but i think it would be a better opener with the du du du dun dunderrr | | 2 | Ride The Lightning

Despite being a great tune, where it is it kills the ending to fade to black. here it could just build on the awesomeness of rtl. | | 4 | The Call of Ktulu
This'll carry on the good stuff, but make everyone concentrate again, and change the mood which will important for the slight comedown of the next couple of songs. | | 5 | Escape
weakest track on the album, still good but there are others deserving of more important positions. hopefully it wont get too much in the way here. | | 6 | Fight Fire With Fire
The only other iffy track, not bad again, but suffers from being the opener, which for whom the bell tolls would do better. here though it may have to lose the acoustic opening. | | 7 | Creeping Death
Could be a good lead into Fade to Black, similar tone? i don't know, just sounds like it would work. | | 8 | Fade To Black
Surely the fucking name of the song means it should be at the end, let alone the the song itself. awesome solos to finish the album with | |

06.30.11 | good shout i just think it would be easier to lead off from for whom the bell tolls, starting witth creeping death would be hard to carry on from as it's one of the harder and faster tracks on the album.

btw has anybody noticed how metallica has similar track positioning on RTL, MOP and AJFA? they start with one of the faster, thrashy songs (ffwf, battery, blackened) then comes the title track, ballads are always #4, and instrumentals are always near/at the end | thumbcrusher
06.30.11 | it sounds to me though that fight fire with fire would be better on kill em all and doesn't really fit as well with this, so that's why i don't think it's a great introduction to the album.
