Favorite Albums Of The Decade

With the new decade under way, I thought I would look at my iTunes and pick a favorite album for each year of the first decade in the post Y2K world.
1Tool
Lateralus

2001 - A decade after its release and five years of listening; I still find it to be highly entertaining and enjoyable.
2Isis
Oceanic

2002 - Incredible live, very patient song structures in which to get lost. And "The Other" is good times all around.

2003 - The most "experimental" and "mature" release from the band that inspired me to listen to something other than my parent's music.
4Isis
Panopticon

2004 - Slim pickings for this year in my iTunes, but I have been enjoying this more lately so what the hey? Backlit is quite the jam.
5Sigur Ros
Takk...

2005 - After seeing these guys in 2009 I explored their back catalog and found Takk... to be one of the most serene and beautiful albums I've heard to date.
6Tool
10,000 Days

2006 - Naysayers be damned! Haha I realize it's not as revolutionary as Tool fans wanted it to be, but Tool creates an atmosphere on this album that I think surpasses all their other albums, even if the songs are weaker or viewed as similar when compared to other songs in their catalog.
7Baroness
Red Album

2007 - Oh sludge, where would I be without you? The southern sludge rock of Baroness sooths my heart and fires my soul at the same time.
8Torche
Meanderthal

2008 - Pop music done right. Very heavy, filled with hooks and not concerned with much else besides being fun.
9Karnivool
Sound Awake

2009 - Steve Judd is one creative drummer and hey the rest of the band is pretty swell too. From long, intricate song structures to interesting lyrics these guys have their bases covered. Now only if they could fix their name...
10Kylesa
Spiral Shadow

2010 - Two drummers, sludgy riffs and some kinda spacey production make this one of my favorite sludge albums. And they bring it home live.
