06.29.11 | "I forgot how cool it is to shit on Converge."

06.29.11 | Trap Them - Darker Handcraft
Throats - Throats EP
United Nations - Nevermind the Bombings, Here's Your Six Figures
Those are the albums/EPs I would start with. |
Uranium
06.29.11 | I prefer No Heroes but that is hit and miss for some |
Josh D.
06.29.11 | And maybe The Bled - Heat Fetish. |
captaincrunch11
06.29.11 | No More Heroes
|
ManintheBox
06.29.11 | @josh:thanks, jamming to trap them now. Vocals are more of a driving force than converge but pretty good stuff.
@uranium:yeah thats what I figured from reviews and stuff. |
Uranium
06.29.11 | yeah trap them rule pretty hard |
Pyosisified
06.29.11 | just listen to jane doe over and over again |
auberginedreams
06.29.11 | band is alright but overrated as fuck. I second the United Nations rec, great stuff right there. |
puma35
06.29.11 | throats is so good, get that, start with when forever comes crashing down and work your way up |
DinoX
06.29.11 | Holy hell whats with all the hate on this list?
If you want to check out there whole discography I don't recommend listening to Jane Doe yet because everything else they have done is shit in comparison to that masterpiece. Personally I'd say their second best is when forever comes crashing. |
Spare
06.29.11 | guy says he really likes converge and wants more converge, gets people telling him he's wrong and to listen to shittier bands. good work guys. you can't stop him from listening to converge now he's already fucking done it and LIKES THEM you dumb motherfuckers.
anyway pretty much every converge album is great. no heroes is probably the most similar to axe to fall. |
botb
06.29.11 | when forever comes crashing was the next album that really clicked for me and then jane doe. |
Ire
06.29.11 | spot on, spare. |
DinoX
06.29.11 | Go Spare Go! |
ManintheBox
06.29.11 | nice retalliation guys, thanks for some actual recs. will probably start at the begining with when forever comes crashing down. |
Trebor.
06.29.11 | Petitioning The Empty Sky came out before that one. |
TheyTookErrJobs
06.29.11 | Petitioning The Empty Sky is rad. Check that shit out. |
TheyTookErrJobs
06.29.11 | Oh dude, i can't believe Dead Beat is at the bottom of you list, i fucking loved that track, even though it sounds a bit too much like Golden Dawn by Gospel (of their album The Moon is a Dead World which Kurl Ballou produced). |
liledman
06.29.11 | spare is correct |
MoosechriS
06.29.11 | Just jump head first into jane doe and get amongst it |
hellpickle
06.29.11 | I don't really get why anyone would bother with the band and how Jane Doe is ever considered as one of the three pillars of pioneering mathcore.
Though I fairly enjoyed No Heroes, heck, I think I'd buy that album.
Look up Furnace from Massachusetts as well as Converge and Trap Them. I think that's what they do there - rage in their music, though Furnace with all their intangibility is my fav. |
InFiction
06.29.11 | I've always liked You Fail Me. Listen to You Fail Me. |
liledman
06.29.11 | "I don't really get why anyone would bother with the band and how Jane Doe is ever considered as one of the three pillars of pioneering mathcore."
people think jane doe is mathcore? |
hellpickle
06.29.11 | I think "The Holy Trinity" was Botch's "We Are The Romans", TDEP "Calculating Infinity" and Converge's "Jane Doe". Besides disharmonic squeals via playing two notes that are only half tone apart, I don't understand why anyone would refer to them as mathcore.
Maybe back then it was cool to say that you listen to mathcore, I mean, it's crazy fast and the guy screams. Must be that screamo mathcore metal I've heard so much about. |
hellpickle
06.29.11 | probably their best song (even though a cover)

this is coming from a non-fan, but still I think most people can get behind this. |
