05.30.11 | Couple things:
1. Why are people on this site so quick to be critical and rude? This site should be about sharing one's love and taste in music, a means of introducing people to new albums and artists.
2. As my intro at the beginning of the last implied, I think it's a neat idea to compile a list for the previous year after a good chunk of time, such as 6 months, has passed. Allows time to put all the music of that previous year in perspective; when you make these types of list in January albums from December, November, etc. are more fresh in your mind than ones from earlier that year. However, after 6 months you'll have a better idea of which are sticking around in your playlists for the long haul.
3. A music site I post at compiles Top 50 lists in June. I was posting this there for that and decided to toss it up on here to.
Finally, try to be constructive people. If the list has a lot of stuff you like, recommend some things you may that aren't on the list that you think the poster and others would like.

05.30.11 | In regards to Mumford & Sons, it was a 2009 release in the UK but was a 2010 release in the USA - I chose to go by US release dates given that I'm a US citizen. As for the website, as much as I'd love to share (and help pump in some new blood!) it's sort of an underground forum and my fellow posters wouldn't appreciate it. Sorry = |

05.30.11 | lance - it's not really a traditional website, it's a private forum. everyone knows everyone else and, unfortunately, the main mods aren't up for letting anyone join. not my rule, but gotta live by it. sorry. And yeah, shit talking is often inevitable but its nice to find places to get away from it where people just enjoy music (or whatever) and talk about it in a more constructive way. |
