| 2011 Albums I Cannot Wait To Hear / Need To Listen To
Gonna be a good year, for me at least :) | 1 | | Sylosis Edge of the Earth
4.5/5, very heavy, but I miss the cleans | 2 | | Protest the Hero Scurrilous
4.5/5 fast and crazy and great fun | 3 | | Dream Theater A Dramatic Turn of Events
5/5 my fav of the year. Their best in quite some time | 4 | | Arch Enemy Khaos Legions | 5 | | Judas Preist Album
Now 2012 | 6 | | Symphony X Iconoclast
4/5 Great stuff, though could have been better | 7 | | Thrice Major/Minor
4/5 Best Thrice in a while, still for me missing the melody and power on Artist | 8 | | The Mars Volta Album
Now 2012 | 9 | | Shadows Fall Album
Now 2012 | 10 | | Evile Five Serpent's Teeth
4/5 Good fun thrash, better than Infected. Faster and more complex then the previous album | 11 | | Opeth Heritage
4/5 (or 3.5/5, I'm torn). Hated it at first, but it's actually grown on me a hellova lot. Falls short compared to
their previous stuff though, and is disjointed. | 12 | | Mastodon The Hunter
4.5/5 Awesome album here, the riffs are back and it's a lot of fun. Drumming is immense! | 13 | | Threshold Album
Now 2012 | 14 | | Megadeth TH1RTE3N
4/5 Underrated. Yes, it's not Endgame-awesome, but it's still pretty solid. | 15 | | Amon Amarth Surtur Rising
4/5 Good, though unsurprising, album from Amon. | 16 | | Anthrax Worship Music
3.5/5 There is NO WAY IN HELL this is better than Persistence (the rating is higher). Saying that, it's a decent
album that strays a little too far into nu-metal at points. | 17 | | Between the Buried and Me Album | 18 | | Funeral for a Friend Welcome Home Armageddon
3.5/5 Not bad at all, nothing really new though. Still, their best since Hours. | 19 | | The Strokes Angles | 20 | | Jan Akkerman Minor Details
4/5 Awesome underappreciated album. Some wicked jazzy chill music. | 21 | | Machine Head Unto The Locust
4/5 Not a patch on the Blackening, but damn good anyway. The lyrics seem a little childish, but the riffs are
definetely there! | 22 | | Killswitch Engage Album
Now 2012 | 23 | | Pain of Salvation Road Salt Two
4/5 Really enjoyed this. This is what Road Salt 1 tried to be. Their best since Remedy. | 24 | | Queensryche Dedicated to Chaos
2/5 Utterly terrible. A shame as American Soldier was half-decent | 25 | | Radiohead The King of Limbs | |

03.23.11 | Well, a good year for prog metal fans like myself lol :P
Things I didn't have room for:
- Van Halen
- Tool (possibly)
- Unexpect
- Testament
- Steve Vai (possibly)
- John Petrucci (possibly) | dante1991
03.23.11 | 1 and 2 are excellent both 4-4.5 for me
Still need to hear 18 & 25 | acorncheese
03.23.11 | Can't wait for new Volta. Most excited for new Vessels though. I know it's out already, but I don't have my copy yet :/ | theacademy
03.23.11 | cool list wheres simple math | TheJackal
03.23.11 | Are Mastodon definately releasing an album this year? I'm really interested to see what direction they decide to go with thier music | Inveigh
03.23.11 | I see a lot of what appears to just be guessing (i.e. Thrice, Shadows Fall, KsE, Megadeth) -- are you just expecting them to release albums because they haven't since 2009?
I'm hopefull that we'll get new Neurosis; but I'm also excited for new Gorguts, Mac Lethal, Atmosphere and possibly Aesop Rock and P.O.S... | theacademy
03.23.11 | thrice is coming out with something new in the fall i believe
| Cosmiche
03.23.11 | don't get your hopes up over a new tool album | Inveigh
03.23.11 | I do trust acad as a Thrice expert on here so now I believe it
will probably be good | dante1991
03.23.11 | Inveigh: Well Megadeth definetly are as they are recording now and apparently "it sounds like endgame". Shadows Fall have hinted that they are going to enter the studio early this year, and Thrice are meant to be releasing an album in the Autumn. KsE are apparently "working on an album set for a 2011 release, but Wiki is the only source for that so...
I guess I'm fairly confident on most of them, the only ones which are just wishful thinking, that I didn't state were, are: Mastodon, Anthrax, Queensryche and Killswitch Engage | NeroCorleone80
03.23.11 | New Neurosis might drop end of the year, but more likely next year | Mewcopa0
03.23.11 | mediafire | Inveigh
03.23.11 | new Megadeth would be awesome
not as awesome as new Neurosis though... | iSkane
03.23.11 | Totally fucking pumped for Opeth, the Mars Volta, Thrice, and Dream Theater. Oh, also, it's Angles not Angels for the Strokes. I thought it was Angels for the first few weeks until I read the RS review. | jingledeath
03.23.11 | most of these are/will be shit | Crimson Death
03.24.11 | Pumped for Opeth, BTBAM and Mastodon. I need to listen to Sylosis, though it's not like COAA from what I've heard. Judas Priest, Queensryche and Thrice are never going to make albums close to as good as their magnum opuses so I don't have high hopes for them. | dante1991
03.24.11 | Sylosis is awesome. It's heavier and more progressive than COAA. Can't decide whether I miss the cleans or not, though. | Crimson Death
03.24.11 | I personally enjoyed the cleans, Transcendence was my favorite track off the album. But I know everyone else didn't care for the cleans. | pmmets07
03.24.11 | i'm pumped for new Touche the most. Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me | Ovrot
03.24.11 | New arch enemy and evile?
Sweet!! | AnalAnnihilator
05.15.11 | absolutely cannot fucking wait for the new Machine Head album... | Psychopathologist
05.15.11 | absolutely cannot fucking wait for you to stop bumping old awful lists you retard | Vooligan
05.15.11 | Fair to Fucking Midland. | Puzzles
05.15.11 | I would mention Twelve Foot Ninja, Queens of the Stone Age, Papa Vs Pretty, The Mars Volta (you already got them), Over-Reactor, Soundgarden, Mastodon (got them as well), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Glassjaw (?), The Butterfly Effect. Can't think of any others. | Puzzles
05.15.11 | "Fair to Fucking Midland."
I see they've slightly tweaked their band name. |
