30 Most Played
These are the 30 most played artists on my iPod. Top song and a little bit about each so everyone has something to argue about below. |
1 | | Deftones Diamond Eyes
Sextape.
This is my girlfriend's favorite 'tones song so I play it a lot for her. The video is pretty sexy. |
2 | | Baroness Red Album
Isak.
About a year ago when Blue Album came out, my friend and I were on a Baroness bender. This track had already been played many times before that but got bumped up because of this. |
3 | | Faith No More Album of the Year
Last Cup Of Sorrow.
My second favorite song by my favorite band. |
4 | | The Absence Riders Of The Plague
Echos.
I'm a little disappointed by the new album but this song fucking slays! |
5 | | Devin Townsend Ocean Machine: Biomech
Regulator.
One of Devin's best tracks. Love this song. |
6 | | Murs The End Of The Beginning
The Night Before.
My favorite song by one of the best MCs around. My sister and I met him last Saturday at his show in Berkeley. Cool dude, indeed. |
7 | | Beck Guero
Missing.
This is one of Beck's better laid-back songs but the whole album is pretty awesome. I listened to it a lot when it first came out. |
8 | | Mastodon Leviathan
Blood And Thunder.
Probably the best opening track on any album I can think of off the top of my head. Pretty much the perfect metal song. |
9 | | Commodores Movin' On
Time.
I like some funky shit every once in a while. Machine Gun is better but this is a stand out track too. |
10 | | Del The Funky Homosapien Both Sides Of The Brain
If You Must.
This is one of Del's best tracks. Catchy, goofy and fun with an awesome beat. |
11 | | Fear Factory Mechanize
Final Exit.
I thought Mechanize was awesome. Raymond is a good drummer but Gene blows him away. |
12 | | Porcupine Tree In Absentia
Trains.
This is a great (if a bit generic) track from Steve Wilson and friends. I'm surprised something from Fear Of A Blank Planet hasn't been played more... |
13 | | Aceyalone Love And Hate
Lost Your Mind.
Yet another song from one of my favorite rappers. Ace is incredibly underrated. |
14 | | Bob Marley And The Wailers Legend
Could You Be Loved.
I'm not a huge Bob Marley fan and usually don't like reggae but I always liked this song a lot. |
15 | | Cake Comfort Eagle
Meanwhile Rick James...
Cake! I loved the shit out of this band in high school. One of the few bands that I still enjoy as much today as I did 10 plus years ago. |
16 | | Enslaved Ruun
Ruun.
This might be my favorite Enslaved song. For some reason this album doesn't seem to get as much love as their other ones but I think it's one of their best. |
17 | | Lamb Of God Wrath
Set To Fail.
I'm kind of surprised this is up there with the rest of these but, whatever...it's a good song. Reclamation beats it out as best on this album though. |
18 | | Torche Meanderthal
Healer.
I love this song and this album but I was unimpressed when I saw them live a few weeks back. Just wasn't feeling it for some reason...Oh, and this song wasn't included in their set. Lame. |
19 | | Dredg The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion
Savior.
This is probably my favorite track on their most recent album. I really like the intro. |
20 | | Gojira From Mars To Sirius
The Heaviest Matter Of The Universe.
This song is a fucking beast! This should be the official video for it:

21 | | Queens Of The Stone Age Era Vulgaris
Make It Wit Chu.
I'm not too big on this album but this song is great. Didn't they originally do this with PJ Harvey? |
22 | | Slayer Seasons In The Abyss
Skeletons Of Society.
Other than the title track, I think this might be my favorite song on this album. Awesome live too. |
23 | | TV On The Radio Dear Science
Golden Age.
Another song I'm surprised to see here. I guess I must have listened too it more than I thought even though I like DLZ better. |
24 | | Amon Amarth With Oden On Our Side
Asator.
This band is tons of fun and Asator is my favorite song by them. |
25 | | Nine Inch Nails With Teeth
Only.
I like this song but it's definitely not my favorite NIN track. Probably on a party mix or something... |
26 | | Opeth Deliverance
Deliverance.
This is Opeth's best song in my opinion. I can listen to it over and over and not get bored. Like Enslaved's Ruun, it seems this album doesn't get as much praise as others but it's one of my favorites by them. |
27 | | Pixies Bossanova
Dig For Fire.
I know it's not a Pixies classic but it is quite possibly my favorite track by them. I was a bit upset not to hear it when I saw them last year in Oakland. Oh well... |
28 | | Tower Of Power Tower Of Power
Clever Girl.
More funk! A great song by an underappreciated band. |
29 | | VsThem A Sunny Day
Paper Airplanes.
This is a song by my friend's band. I do a lot of the visuals for them (album art, videos) and I highly recommend checking them out.

30 | | In Mourning Shrouded Divine
By Others Considered.
As I was making this list, this song was playing and slipped in at the last minute to take Agalloch's (Falling Snow) place. Both are damn good songs. Can't wait for Marrow Of The Spirit. |
