2000 Comments, Let Me Make A List

really cliche and lame to make a list for some thousand amount of rposts, but i was making a list anyways so oh well. list is stuff i think risn't well enough known around here. Mostly stuff that's actually well rappreciated it just didn't reach a lot of people.

Ghastly City Sleep

Members of pg. 99 and City of Caterpillar making beautiful post-rock? Yes please. If nothing else, do yourself a favor and check out the opener "Ice Creaks".
9The Veils
Nux Vomica

While this album fits well on the list, I really want to just share what I consider their best track, which is off their earlier album The Runaway Found. It's absolutely beautiful (http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=LM1zXMZpmFg).
8Patrick Wolf
Wind in the Wires

Similar to 9, this album is great . Fucking fantastic actually, I was teetering on a 5 at one point, but i don't listen to it as much anymore. That's not to say it's a shallow album though, it's still a 4.5 at least and I might come back and 5 it some day. But the real gem of his discog is on a later album The Bachelor, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVqKPNlxWIc).
7Piglet
Lava Land

I'll be honest this isn't a classic album, nor will it draw in people who aren't fans of the genre. But it's a mathy album that often gets overlooked in favor of worse albums. Not quite up there with Tera Melos or Hella's Hold Your Horse Is, but just about the closest thing.
6Murder by Death
Who Will Survive and What Will be Left of Them?

This might not be underappreciated enough to deserve a spot on this list. I think its popularity has grown quite a bit since I first came here. But it's one of my favorite albums and my favorite concept album (well, maybe besides El Cielo, but this one is more of a straightfoward story, which I like better).
5Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki
Symphony No. 3

It's not that I expected this to get a ton of attention, this site has never been about classical music (and neither had I to be honest). But I caught wind of this and I'm really glad I did. Probably my favorite classical I've heard so far, very emotional stuff.
4 D'angelo
Voodoo

So R&B/soul probably isn't your thing. It's not mine either. But this is just fucking incredible and definitely something everyone should give a shot. I expected to hate this but it was great. 20 votes only is crazy for such a well-crafted record.

A very strange proggy post-hardcore album that is a fucking trip. There's some really interesting stuff going on here, the best way i can describe this album is that it's really INTERESTING. I know not the best way to describe it. I should say it's emotional/technical/catchy/etc., and while there is quite a bit of all of that in there (the guitarwork is pretty brilliant at times), the album is just such an experience. Check out the opener here, it was the only song i could find on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=gLJrAIJXbC4).
2A Lot Like Birds
Plan B

Don't we usually like to get together and have a circle jerk over good post- hardcore on here? Not sure why this didn't happen with this, I just found it recently. Definitely not strictly post-hardcore, it mixes a lot of genres, but that just makes it more awesome.

Program Music I

Ahh, possibly the most under-appreciated album here. Not because no one has heard of it, it has a somewhat decent following that's fortunately growing, but because of how fucking immaculate it is. Literally a flawless album, and the most beautiful thing you'll ever hear.
