Alphabet Games

So every time I go on a hike with my brother, we generally try to amuse ourselves with alphabet games. One of our favorites is naming two different bands each for each letter of the alphabet. Last time, we added a discussion on who we thought were the best bands for each letter. These were my picks, with runner-ups.
1August Burns Red

Runner-up: Anberlin (pretending that their new cd does not exist)
2Brand New

Runner-Up: Between the Buried and Me
3Coheed and Cambria

Runner-Up: Circa Survive. A tough pick over Cyrus Fell Down and Circle Takes
the Square.
4Dredg

Runner-Up: Death Cab For Cutie
5Emery

Runner-Up: Explosions in the Sky
6The Format/Fun.

Yes I can count them as the same band. Runner-Up: The Fall of Troy. Four Year
Strong close 3rd, although it wouldn't be as close if TFOT had stopped after
Manipulator.
7Grizzly Bear

Runner-Up: Gorillaz. Weak letter.
8House of Heroes

Runner-Up: Haste the Day. Although I was close to switching it because I love
the new Haste the Day and am unhappy with the new HoH.
9Incubus

Runner-Up: Iron & Wine
10Jimmy Eat World

Runner-Up: Jimi Hendrix. Or JFAC.
11Khaled

Runner-Up: Keane. Almost as weak a letter as G. Btw, I can't get into King
Crimson, so spare me.
12Led Zeppelin

Runner-Up: Lovedrug. Or Lovehatehero but based on just their first album.
13The Mars Volta

Runner-Up: Mastodon/The Matches tie. And Matchbook Romance/Motion City
Soundtrack honorable mention. M is a beast of a letter.
14Nirvana

Runner-Up: No Doubt
15Oh, Sleeper

Runner-Up: Outkast. Kind of a weak letter.
16Protest the Hero

Runner-Up: Portugal. The Man. Solid Letter.
17Queen

Runner-Up: Queens of the Stone Age. With only 5 bands in my iTunes to
choose from...
18Radiohead

Runner-Up: Red Hot Chili Peppers
19Saosin

Runner-Up: Switchfoot. Probably the best letter after M. Tough picks.
20Thrice

Runner-Up: Tool. Taking Back Sunday honorable mention.
21Underoath

Runner-Up: The Used
22Vampire Weekend

Runner-Up: Vanna
23Wu-Tang Clan

Runner-Up: The White Stripes
24Ummm...

Xiu Xiu is the only X band I have and I haven't gotten to them yet. So skip this
letter.
25Yellowcard

Runner-Up: Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Almost as bad a selection as Q.
26ZZ Top

Runner-Up: The Zombies. With only 4 bands to choose from...
Shoot I forgot #s.
Ok so for #s the winner is 10 Years, runner-up is 311.
Bear in my mind that all of this is just my opinion. Now lavish me with your
approval/derision/what have you.
