My Top Underrated Bands
The bands I think are very talented but underrated overall, never got big recognition etc. |
1 | Kyuss
Sure they owe alot to Sabbath but name a band that was that young and that good. |
2 | Helmet
Blamed for starting the Nu-Metal trend but they were never really a part of it. Much more creative than their followers and lead by the master of feedback. |
3 | Pelican
Apparently many people today don't have the attention span of a mature adult to understand what is going on in music unless a chorus is said every 15 seconds. Incredible work on each album which only improves with every release. |
4 | Isis |
5 | Cave In
Usually referred to as interesting metal they always continue to redefine their sound. Starting off a bit average with Beyond Hypothermia and improving all the time. They faltered a bit with Antenna but found their way again. |
6 | Gang Starr
Never really seen as the legends they are, DJ Premier and Guru always make quality music. They don't get caught in the mainstream drivel and have good rhyming talent and great beats. Intellignet lyrics push them over the top, I mean how many rappers have ever used a word like Soliloquy in a song? |
7 | Injected
Had one minor hit which was one of their weaker songs that didn't showcase their true talent. Like all good smaller bands they keep pressing on. |
8 | Deftones
You may call them overrated in some cases but they never fail to be at the very least interesting. I heard them called the only Nu-metal band that matters and for a good reason. Their guitar work is not overly complicated but they make up for it in atmosphere and Cunningham destroys the drumkit. |
9 | Cold
Sure their last album was kinda weak but all their releases show growth and good musicianship.Scooter Ward's voice is so good that you can feel his pain through all the songs. |
10 | Band
I'll add more when I get around to it. |
