06.06.10 | it's got this kind of escapist quality that's really really rare in hip-hop (this is more the first three tracks i'm talking about, although others too). very ethereal and wintry. the beats, to me, are pretty consistently good. he might not always have the greatest lyrics, but i'd say he sounds good saying them, and the beats usually bring out the best in him. he may not be all that distinguishable from some of his ilk, but, to me, he's likable. he sounds good singing. auto-tune usage is mostly tasteful.
it all adds up to honestly one of my favorite releases of the past year. sucks that you dont like it though but hey difrnt strokes difrnt folks or whatev |
