Jrowa001 Has Actually Been Listening To Music The Last 3 Months

i have recently returned to sputnik a few weeks ago and gotten back to listening to new music. in the last three months (mostly this past month) heres some music i have gotten and enjoyed.
Black Ice

post-rock, experimental music. beautiful stuff
2The Dillinger Escape Plan
Option Paralysis

3 Coheed & Cambria
Year of the Black Rainbow

rules as well
4 Secret & Whisper
Teenage Fantasy

solid post-hardcore with great voclas
5 She & Him
Volume Two

excellent follow-up. Zooey keeps amazing me
All of the Above

metalcore with some progressive/technical instrumentals. really good
7War of Ages

their best album
8Bleeding Through
Bleeding Through

still has the BT sound but it tries new things. some of their best work
9Melissa Auf der Maur
Out of Our Minds

she was the guitarist for Hole and some other bands, but her solo debut LP is outstanding. cool guitarwork and vocals. mixes many styles of rock and has guest vocals by Danzig on the track 'Father's Grave'
10Joanna Newsom
Have One On Me

quite a journey to get through 3 discs of her music. was it worth it? YES!
11Minus the Bear

not their best by any stretch, but still has some quality songs and a different sound
Encounter the Monolith

more and more i listen to this i like it more than their debut. if you want quality death/black metal than get this

theyre one of the up and comers in metal and they deserve the praise. vocals are iffy but dont ruin it for me. instrumentally they are insane
14Circa Survive
Blue Sky Noise

so Circa Survive finally made an album that didnt get boring half way through
15Murder By Death
Good Morning, Magpie

not disapointing at all. they always create a surreal album
16 Alcest
?cailles de lune

17Marina & The Diamonds
The Family Jewels

fun indie/electronic pop. she has a good voice for pop and the lyrics are easy to sing to
18Laura Marling
I Speak Because I Can

she has won my heart over. this album is crazy good and her songwriting ability is growing and growing

not as good as their other stuff but its aggressive

Gorath impressed me with their debut Misotheism, and although this one wasnt quite as good it still is some excellent black metal
Coils of a Consumed Paradise

death metal
22Hour of Penance

didnt really like this band a whole lot but this release is solid
Within the Eye of Chaos

melodic death metal with catchy clean vocals
Morte(s) Nee(s)

if you havent heard of this band by now then you should kill yourself
25Warfield Within
Inner Bomb Exploding

although the album name is cheesy it does a decent job of describing the aggressiveness and anger found on this melodic death metal album
26Bosque Brown

country/folk. she has a simple and lovely voice
27Randy Twigg

synth/trance pop with female vocals. songs are hit and miss
Au ellai

funeral doom hasnt been this good for a while
The Golden Archipelago

one of my favs of the year so far.
30The Foreshadowing

vocals dont seem to be as good as their debut but i still like it
31Barren Earth
Curse of the Red River

heavy as balls
32Defeated Sanity
Chapters of Repugnance

i dont like brutal death metal but this isnt too bad
33 Les Discrets
Septembre et ses derni?res pens?es

alcest clone but awesome
34Britta Persson
Top Quality Bones and A Little Terrorist

indie pop with 50's/60's aesthetic
When Will We Surrender

hardcore/metalcore done pretty well
36A Hope For Home

sludge metal/post-hardcore. good atmosphere
37Beach House
Teen Dream

the girl's vocals are off sometimes but the music is chill
38Frightened Rabbit
The Winter of Mixed Drinks

very good indie
39As I Lay Dying
The Powerless Rise

somehow i really like this band and this is an awesome album

chaos in a can with a dab of stability

power metal with some folk mixed in. vocals are ok, but the instrumetnals are the standout
42Year of No Light

band rules
Majesty and Decay

finally got this death metal album
44Amy Macdonald
A Curious Thing

this Scottish chick has a hot voice and the looks to go with it.
45Wrath and Rapture
Wrath and rapture

deathcore with symphonic music. a recipe for disaster but they pulled it off

experimental post-hardcore with some tech metal mixed in. they like to say they cant be catalogued into one genre
47Jenny Owen Youngs
Transmitter Failure

indie pop
48The Binary Code
Suspension of Disbelief

one part metalcore one part Between the Buried and Me. not bad for a young band
Diamond Eyes

their best since White Pony.

technical death metal with some metalcore whatnot. i like it
