03.25.10 | Hahaha...you have a lot of albums to check out here. Let's see if I can help you out a bit, if I may ;-).
Out of all of these that have been suggested so far, the first ones I suggest you check out are:
Pink Floyd - (Whichever rec'd albums you haven't heard yet)
Bob Dylan - 'Highway 61 Revisited' (Folk)
Led Zeppelin - Pick one. No, really.
U2 - 'War' (Alt-Rock, or something like that)
The Who - 'Who's Next?' (though I noticed no one rec'd 'Quadrophenia'...oh, well. Let's call them Progressive Brit-Rock :-P)
That sort of gives you an all around look at how to move ahead. Once you sort-of find your ground there, the next wave of albums might look like this:
The Doors - 'The Doors'
The Eagles - 'Greatest Hits'
Iron Maiden - 'Powerslave'
Joy Division - 'Unknown Pleasures'
The Pixies - 'Surfer Rosa' or 'Doolittle'
Rush - 'Moving Pictures'
The Ramones - 'The Ramones'
...and then from there, you should have a good idea about whether you want to press on or not. Hope it helps!
Also...one more rec:
Beach Boys - 'Pet Sounds' |

03.25.10 | @Masochist: I missed your post before, but thanks. This list got massive pretty fast and so I'll probably start with a few of the albums you mentioned there.
@Poet: I'm working that way too, but I've already got a fair number of recommendations to work on in that direction. |

03.25.10 | god that guy sucks at trolling |
Inveigh
03.25.10 | I'm not even sure he's actually a troll at this point, but if he is, then yes. worst. troll. ever. if not, then I just kind of feel sorry for him. |
BigHans
03.25.10 | He's right about Pet Sounds.
And Unsatisfied and Bastards of Young destroy Androgynous, but its still a great track. |
porch
03.25.10 | Definitely a troll. Pretty obvious that he tries to say "should i check it out" in every comment. An unfunny joke dragged on for several days, it's just painful to see him fail so hard. |
Inveigh
03.25.10 | yeah, that's a good point. lol, did you read his sound off for Duran Duran? |
porch
03.25.10 | No, should I check it out?
did u c what i did there

03.25.10 | oooh zing! but yeah, it was kind of funny. it's funnier if you don't think of it as coming from a troll, but that may be easier said than done |
