02.08.10 | Annuals. What part of NC are you in? I'm in Asheville. |
Illitoris
02.08.10 | Yes. Superchunk, The Rosebuds must be added. And to think North Carolina was metalcore central. |
Masochist
02.08.10 | 6 would be my #1, but I like that #3 ;-) |

02.08.10 | Carlos: I don't live in NC anymore, but I grew up and went to college in Raleigh. I still keep up with NC music because its pretty much what I grew up on and spent a ton of time being involved in in HS and college heh.
I definitely forgot Superchunk and Valient Thorr. Huge misses forgetting those. I have to be honest and say I'm not a huge Rosebuds fan personally though. |

02.28.10 | I go to school in the Asheville area and used to dig Secret Lives before they broke up. Thanks for the mentioning man, brings back some good memories of their shows.
I'm curious what your thoughts were on the now broken-up My Hero is Me, who were also from NC. |
NocturnalEpitaph
03.02.10 | Yea as far as Knives Exchanging Hands and My Hero Is Me...If I was from the gboro or winston area originally, they would probably be on my list instead of Called To Arms. Since I went to college in Raleigh, I got to see CTA a ton which is why I included them on my list (big nostalgia factor there). But I probably enjoyed Knives Exchanging Hands just as much as CTA if not more. My Hero Is Me was ok. Personally I just never got into their style that much, but I enjoyed seeing them live now and then.
In regards to KWD and The Demonstration: I am happy for those guys and lord knows I've seen KWD live probably 15 times over the years, but their sound and shtick with the movie quotes just got old to me. The Demonstration probably should have been on the list though in hindsight. I actually debated between them and Seneca because I think Zack is a great vocalist, but somehow I forgot to put either of them. Good catch.

03.02.10 | Does Nile count |
Zipzop5565
03.02.10 | Guess not since they are from Sc, but i was close |
NocturnalEpitaph
03.02.10 | as you pointed out, Nile is from SC. Great band, but thats why they werent on the list :) |
NocturnalEpitaph
03.02.10 | Oh and PS, this list wasn't really in a specific order or "ranked" or anything. Obviously some of my favorites are right up top because I thought of them first, but I didnt put any real thought into the order. |
LegendofPittman
03.02.10 | No one is from Tennessee except Paramore and country music. WHY!?!?!?!?!?! |
quicksilver050
03.03.10 | Yes!!! Seneca!!! I totally forgot about those guys. I'll have to go look for their old cd now if I can find it. |
NocturnalEpitaph
03.03.10 | yea, i liked them when zack was still the vocalist. I can't even remember the name of that CD now though. :/ |

03.18.10 | HA nice. Just signed up for this site after lurking for awhile. Glad to see we made your list (probably would even recognize you from past shows). Pretty solid list overall too. Good job including a few bands most people overlook like Archer's of Loaf and White Octave. |

08.24.10 | Catharsis, Zegota, HeartsCarved, From Here On, End of All... ok, so I *am* about 5 months late in writing this this, but still-- if we're going back 15 years, lets not forget that NC metal was pretty active before metalcore took over completely. |
