Is stupid. If I actually listened to every single
album that was
released, my ratings might be well spread out, but
that's not the
case for me or probably anyone. The albums I
generally pick up
are: albums in a genre I am digging, albums from
previous albums I enjoyed, an album that is highly
an album that has a review that interests me.
These aren't the
only cases, but the usual cases, and it usually
leaves me with 3-5
Some songs tend to bore me a bit, but the ones that hit, hit hard. Favorites
are Kettering, Sylvia, Bear, Two.
My boss at work always makes fun of the music I listen to (the only bands
we know that he likes are Korn and Lynyrd Skynyrd), and I absolutely love
playing parts of this when he's around.
The only song I listen to off this regularly is archangel, mostly because the
next track bores me and I listen to something else. A rec for a kickass song
off this would be good because I know this could be good, I just never
Hvis lyset tar oss
I really don't like the metal genre, with a few exceptions. I've tried a lot of
different things, but usually just get turned off by the vocals or the drums.
When I first got into screamo I just put on CTTS and told myself I'm gonna
listen to this until I like it. So I picked some extremes in the metal genre
(this and 6), and am doing the same. Upon first listen, Det som en gang var
actually impressed me a whole lot, I've never heard anything that evil and I
have respect for it for that aspect at least. Still trying to decide if I'd ever
even want to listen to this repeatedly if I loved it, but I do like it in a
way right now.
I just picked this up a few days ago along with some other stuff so I
haven't really had a chance to digest it fully, but I LOVE You're All the Same
"Fuck your catchy one liners fuck
your dress to impress you can go
fuck yourselves with that trendy
shit fuck your bad attitudes fuck
your weak high class fuck all you
pretenders keep your life of trash"
Same idea as with Burzum. Except I'd already had this for a long time and
gave it a few listens. I appreciated the technicality of course, but didn't like
the overall sound. I think it was the drums at ~2:00 in Fault and Fracture
that made me fall in love with this. Everything I heard after that was
beautiful. Still don't love the whole album though, just because I've fallen in
love with the first 4 tracks and haven't really listened past that while paying
attention, I need to get on that.
Catch a ho and another ho Merry Christmas - my favorite line in any hip-hop
I love B's verses, but the choruses and times when there's no vocals are
lame. Sen Dog is good, but for the most part I feel like he should just try
something on his own. If I'm listening to Cypress it's usually because I want
to hear B, but I do like Sen's verse on Cock the Hammer.
This might be my favorite singer/songwriter album ever, and I just picked it
up yesterday. Every song is good, and it's something I can actually listen to
around my mom.

Hollow Be My Name
When I first picked up this album I only liked the title track, but now I like
almost all the rest, and some quite a bit more than the title (I am the
bearer... and Oh, Brother).
6 Feet Deep
I'm always spinning this album.
Creepin through the ghettos and the slums and streets
Gravedigga, nigga, 6 feet
I really like young hearts spark fire, but the rest of this album does nothing
for me, or at least hasn't yet.

I really like my love off this. Not the best album, but a cool sound and worth
listening to at least some of it. There's probably no need to hear all 9 songs
off this, but a few are worth having.
Normally I like organic beats like what's used on Deltron 3030, but the
synthetic beats on this just sound so... smooth? I can't really think of a
good word for them, but there's just no imperfections in the sounds, and a
lot of the time that just sounds lame like some 15 year old got a hold of a
pirated verstion of FL Studio, but when it's put together as beautifully as
this I just want to put this on and dance.
The Old Road
Definitely my favorite screamo album right now. I got out of that genre for
awhile, and although this album is nothing new to me, a few recent plays
got me right back into it. I used to mostly like the parts where his shaky
clean vocals came in on post-youth and for the tree that fell, but my favorite
song right now off this is When the Canary Dies Run Like Fuck (I can't
express how much I love that song title either).
I'm pretty confused about why this is under the name DOOM (fucked up my
alphabetical order nicely, I have this under Viktor Vaughn but knew this site
had it under something else so I thought it would be MF Doom). Anyways I
love the title track off here. I would quote some lyrics but everything MF
spits is fire.

There are a lot of pretty good songs on this album, but hot damn does
Sorrow kick ass.
Saw part of this on some weird channel on TV once, always wanted to
watch it. Picked this gem up a couple weeks ago and holy shit was it
breathtaking. I think GY!BE is my favorite Post-rock group, but this is
definitely my favorite post-rock release.
I'm glad this is up to a 4 on this site now. Better than Alphabets and
Goodnight Alchemy for sure, maybe even better than Hospital Music for me.
I played this so much when it first dropped, and just played it again the
other day at work and remembered just how much I love this. I love the
story idea, and the whole thing is so unique and well done. This is so close
to a 5 for me.
I wanna thank illmitch for recommending me this. It's a killer album,
although I think Murder stands above the rest.
I'm still Pimp C bitch, so what the fuck is up?
I'm puttin' powder on the streets cuz I got big fuckin' nuts.
Something about Aettie Moerkna is strangely catchy, plus this just kicks all
kinds of ass.
I knew 12's art was gonna screw me
Listen to some Aiden, Waking the Cadaver and Dance Club Massacre and you'll have six or seven solid 1 ratings.
I agree, i generally avoid albums that i think will be bad
Haha trust me i would have no trouble picking out some things that I could rate 1. So I spelled sights and sounds sights ans sounds and Kansas's Monolith art showed up. I corrected it and my UGK art disappeared...
Agree about the objectivity rating. I think ours are actually about the same
you need to listen to more shit
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO AS THE BLACK BOAT SITS IN THE OCEAN
Things to listen to if you want more low ratings:
Bad metal (it's not hard to find).
Modern mainstream "rap/hip-hop" like Sean Kingston and Soulja Boy
Black Eyed Peas
Generic pop punk such as Every Avenue, All Time Low, Forever The Sickest Kids, This Providence, The Cab, The Maine, Boys Like Girls(this could go on forever).
Metro Station deserves their own category of bad.
A Day To Remember's Homesick
