Scottsmen do it so well, this is kinda like The Fall Of Boss Koala, kind of like Love Like... Electrocution, great atmosphere, awesome vocals. RIFFS.
A very dark, black metal-esque take on the French sound.
|3|| ||Heaven In Her Arms|
Duplex Coated Obstruction
Great balance of atmosphere and dissonance.
|4||Suis La Lune / Osceola|
Epic as hell, great vocals.
...To The Beat Of A Dead Horse
This album is a great visit to the punky end of screamo, the vocals remind me a lot of Modern Life Is War for some reason... awesome guest vox too lololol.
This album could do with being less same-y, but Daitro definitely sounds much more mature now.
Flowers And Fireworks
Very melodic, along the vein of Daitro/Adorno/etc.
|9|| ||Mouse Folk|
Very lo-fi, sloppy, dissonant-yet-melodic classic sounding skramz. Sounds like this should've come out in like 2001.
Fuck Your Emotional Bullshit
I love these guys so much, definitely one of the best things to happen to the Lehigh Valley scene in a while, so like, I think I whore them a bit out of hand due to locality.
fuck snowing are sooooo good
i wish i lived near them!
Kaospilot - Shadows
Maths - Descent
Pianos Become The Teeth - Old Pride
Age Sixteen - Open Up Finders, Please
Alpinist - Minus.Mensch
Chalk Talk - Killing Spree
Dominic - Nord
Check those out, brudda.
Have all of those. :o
This year has really produced some ill screamo and death metal, which are my two favorite type of musix~
So I'm really happy. :D
Heaven in Her Arms is blegh.
What's wrong with them? Their music is fucking incredible, and their vocals sound just like Jeromes Dream.
Sure, just replace 'incredible' with pretentious and 'vocals' with everything and 'Jerome's Dream' with Envy.
guess i'll use this as a reference because all I've heard is 7 and 8, and elder.
How exactly is Heaven In Her Arms pretentious? And their vocals definitely sound like Jeromes Dream and nothing like Envy...
Are you kidding? They should just call themselves Envy in Her Arms.
Not only do they have a repetitive, predictable formula, they're hardly emo and simply put in a few screamo elements to slap the skramz sticker on this otherwise Post/Ambient Metal record, as in pulling off the same trick as Envy.
And every Post-Rock inspired record is destined to have the least bit of pretension.
PS. Killing Spree by Chalk Talk is a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better Kinsella inspired emo album than overrated Snowing.
Okay Pirate Squid.
I was comparing their vocals to Jeromes Dream, yeah, their music is very Envy influenced, crazy, considering they're from JAPAN.
Also, saying they aren't screamo is pretty fucking lol.
As for Chalk Talk vs. Snowing, I don't give a fuck, I'm gonna continue loving Snowing for standing out so much among the local scene.
Note this is a list of MY favorite screamo of the year, not your list of showing off how many "underrated" bands you like?
chalk talk r dicks
Not only was I telling you about Chalk Talk as a suggestion, not as a bragging right, you take too much offense and have too much attachment about what bands you listen to and have no interaction with whatsoever beyond some fandom, illlegally downloading their music, maybe possibly buying some shit on iTunes or a vinyl.
OH WOW, IF TWO BANDS ARE FROM THE SAME COUNTRY, THEY SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE INSPIRED FROM EACH OTHER IF ONE IS AROUND LONGER.
Which is why Pianos Become The Teeth is so inspired by Silverstein.
Cool stuff, bruddah.
not only, but also.
PirateSquid, you're annoying and kind of a douchebag.
On top of that, your methods of argument are retarded.
Funniest part of your post is the whole part where you're calling me out on not interacting with the bands.
2. I used to talk to Mouse Folk's singer all the time.
3. Snowing is from my area.
Also, I was pointing out that Heaven In Her Arms is influenced by Envy, because Envy is the biggest name in screamo in Japan.
You're acting like Heaven In Her Arms has nothing to their sound that Envy hasn't already done, which is completely asinine.
As for "Which is why Pianos Become The Teeth is so inspired by Silverstein."
Are you seriously that retarded? American skramz bands share a lot of similarities in sound, just as French and Italian bands do, as Scottish bands do, etc. Don't even pretend that isn't true by using a band that isn't screamo and comparing them to a screamo band from the same country.
sexy list ily mappy
I got Spires and Archives off ur blog!!!
I was simply pointing out that Heavens in Her Arms was overrated, then you got all defensive and douchebaggy.
First of all, by little to no interaction, I meant that you had no part in the creation of their music. Unless, are you saying since they live in your area, they're your sole source of inspiration? WOWIEZOWSKERS!
I'm not saying that saying that they're a complete ripoff of Envy, or bad. Simply not original and pretty predictable. And you were simply saying that they should sound the same, since they were both from japan, not that whole other explanation, so unless you expect me to be in your head, I was only supposed to go by what you were saying.
And way to put down the mentally retarded by saying that they're bad, and should be ridiculed by using their disease as an insult and derogatory to people you don't like. Look how cool you are, bro.
I'm finding it hilarious that a kid who's jocking Chalk Talk is calling Heaven In her Arms overrated.
Band freaking rules. Also, the only thing that irritated me was your abrasive attitude.
alpinist would be on mine. so fucking good. even though it's creamo not screamo
Alpinist would be like 11 on there.
