| Most Influential Bands
These are the top 10 bands that have influenced me. | | 1 | Cynic
I've never thought the idea of mixing Death Metal with Jazz, so when i heard Atheist, I thought it was my favorite band, then I heard Cynic and it blew my mind, because of Cynic I play my bass with a more variaty, basically Cynic did open my mind to other genres. | | 2 | Atheist
Without Atheist I wouldn't know Cynic, and it was the first Jazz/Death/Thrash band I've heard | | 3 | Spiral Architect
Well, it influenced me to play something more complex and less emotional. | | 4 | Deep Purple
They are the band that got me into hard rock/heavy metal, it got me interested in music. | | 5 | Alice in Chains
They taught me that acoustic guitars and heavy distortions can be friends. | | 6 | Dream Theater
When I thought I was good, Dream Theater came, for months I treated them like gods. | | 7 | Sodom
They got me into a deeper side of Thrash(not just the so called big four). | | 8 | Mercyful Fate
Their mix of Thrash/Classic/Neo Classic/Black/Progressive metal style and the unique creativity of King Diamond made MF a big influence in my early days of musician. | | 9 | Death
They got me into Death Metal, then I discovered their late work(the technical). | | 10 | Metallica
I know, most people hate Metallica and others overrate them, but I'm almost sure I wouldn't be playing music if it wasn't for their music. | |
