Blut Aus Nord Ranked
This band has become one of my favorites as of late. So... |
1 | | Blut aus Nord Memoria Vetusta II: Dialogue with the Stars
It is first because it is not an overly challenging listen (I guess I shall count this as a + this time) and because it sounds refined and matured to me compared to their first black metal albums. Could swap places with MMVI though next week. |
2 | | Blut aus Nord The Work Which Transforms God
Even though it doesnt start all too impressive (Choir of the dead could have been better) by the time the closer is over I know I heard something that more than the average album that comes out every day. |
3 | | Blut aus Nord Memoria Vetusta I - Fathers Of The Icy A
Rawer and fuzzier than MMVII. The riffs and melodies slaughter and rape.
What's wrong with the cut title? |
4 | | Blut aus Nord Mort
Gonna get flamed for having this at 4. It's actually equal to Ultima Thulee but I placed this over the later because every time I see it when trying to pick something to listen to it just shout at me: "Pick me"
It can get really annoying if you are in the wrong mindset though.... That "pick me" line was kind of gay actually |
5 | | Blut aus Nord Ultima Thulee
Fuzzier than MMVI with ambient passages and awesome keyboard songs that sound like a human choir. However I find some of the black metal parts to be sub par compared to MMVI or II. The vocals also annoy me Reaaaaarghhhhh.
Extremely good most of the time though. |
6 | | Blut aus Nord Odinist
More black metal and less dissonant than Mort but still pretty dissonant. The atmosphere can wear on you.
Title track rips your head and feeds it to the dogs. Then it also rips the dogs |
7 | | Blut aus Nord The Mystical Beast of Rebellion
It's not bad but it's like the drum machine is stuck at a blast beat pace and Vindsall felt that variety would kill him. Chapter V sound like heaven amidst all the blasting. The tracks on their own are great but as a whole it kind of tires me. |
