I have Sol.illaquists of Sound, POS, and Orphans of Cush too, first two are great, third I havent heard enough of yet. But also I tend to get way more recs than i know what to do with so try to specify which ones your favorite if you can. I really appreciate it though qwe and Oneironaut, thanks.

TMobotron 11.20.09	Alright so I realized I have a long day at work tomorrow so im also gonna pick up Atmosphere, since I kind of liked DPD even though it was too weird for me to like right away. Im gonna get Common-Resurrection too. illmitch I didnt mean to ignore your list but I had already decided on those when I saw your post. Also that list scares the hell out of me but if you tell me your favorite I promise Ill do my best to get it and listen and tell you what I think.

I don't see them get repped enoug on here, where as all the other ones i've listed have been talked about on sputnik loads. so i hope that makes it easier haha. either way enjoy, hope you find someone you really dig
Inveigh 11.20.09	Definitely pick up Atmosphere, but get one of their good ones (not When Life Gives You Lemons). Here's some hip-hop recs w/ ridiculous lyricism (and some Atmosphere): Atmosphere - Lucy Ford (for lyrics), God Loves Ugly (for the total package) P.O.S. - Audition Brother Ali - Shadows on the Sun (insane, deep lyrics w/ good production from Ant of Atmosphere) Aesop Rock - Labor Days (great concept album - unique rhymes) Sol. Illaquists of Sound - No More Heroes Trust me, check these out.

illmitch 11.20.09	no worries TMobotron. out of all my list, i'd recommend UGK - Ridin' Dirty. it's a definitive southern rap album - some say THE definitive - and one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time.
Bandido 11.20.09	Definitely get Resurrection by Common. Also check out Reasonable Doubt by Jay-Z and ATLiens by Outkast. Brother Ali is good too

TMobotron 12.03.09	So illmitch I got that UGK album last night and only had time to listen to the first 4 tracks or so but DAMN it was good. About to listen to it some more now. Also I definitely liked Atmosphere and Common, but Pharoah Monch's just too damn political all the time it got annoying. Theres definitely a few tracks off there that were great though. Ill probably get that Brother Ali album next.
Dielikehussayn 02.05.10	Mos Def- The Ecstatic (from 2009, since you wanted recent.) The song Casa Bey is just mind blowing. And if you want some really new school, check out Charles Hamilton. Young guy out right now just dropping mix-tapes left and right. He's got some sick lines and more cds out than I can count. I dunno if you're into Kanye or not but people are calling him a newer, fresher Kanye because he also produces a lot of his own beats like Kanye does. But don't be derailed if you're not a Kanye fan, Hamilton can actually rap and has better rhymes. :p
ReturnToRock 02.05.10	The one Jin album. Anything by Snoop Dogg, KRS-One or French rapper MC Solaar (if you can handle rhymes in French, he is an absolute lyrical genius).

TMobotron 02.05.10	^ That's kind of what I was thinking. But there's a lot of things recced here I meant to check out and never got around to doing, this reminds me I need to. Also Dielikehussayn Ive heard that song off The Ecstatic, definitely killer. But would you rec black on both sides over that, if you ignore my quest for recent music? Since I made that request I got plenty of things from recently. I always meant to get one of his albums though.
Dielikehussayn 02.05.10	I can't really say. I personally like The Ecstatic better because it's got this overall feel of Middle-Eastern influenced strings and drums and for me it's a more listen-able record. The beats are amazing. However, Black on Both Sides might slightly edge out The Ecstatic if you're solely talking about rhymes. Songs like "Love" and "Ms. Fat Booty" are Mos at his storytelling best.

Never liked Biggie though, although I have an album of his. Might revisit it. Ill check out one of those Mos def albums at least. Ill probably end up getting the other one anyways so probably wont matter which i get first really.
