| My Path To Metal
Many choices pop out, but these 10 albums have had the most impact on my life. Some may not be so gued, but they represent my quintessential experience. | 1 | | Metallica Master of Puppets
A blind and ignorant child, I was home on a summer day having to do chores with my sister. A boyfriend came over and what happened than is history. 1 Cassette :check: 1 Kid pissed off at the world :check:... Maybe its just me but hearing thrash/metal pumps me up to do w/e I need to get done; like chores. Not to mention Welcome Home scored big time with me. My Metallica addiction started at that time, and I continue to support and honor their greatness. | 2 | | Deicide Deicide
Listen to Sacrificial Suicide or Mephistophels and you might understand the depth of my sanity, or lack thereof... What would a teenage boy have else to do besides rage at the world? There is a sidenote on #2: Slayer, Anthrax, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Exodus can all fill in... Reign In Blood, Among the Living, Painkiller, Piece of Mind, Rust In Peace, and Bonded by Blood respectively. | 3 | | Haste The Day Burning Bridges
Production was pretty bad, but Jimmy Ryan was the fucking shit. This album is like driving a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro w/ a 454 in it- BALLS TO THE WALL... The Closest Thing to Closure is practically screaming at everyone to take me on cuz I'm fucking unstoppable. | 4 | | Unearth The Oncoming Storm
Can you find another album to define good breakdowns with guitar solos twining in and out of every chug moment? You would be hard pressed. | 5 | | Bleeding Through This is Love, This is Murderous...
I would say that this album is dark, and reflected my mood when it first came out. It continues to empower me and there is nothing like head banging to some Revenge I Seek... | 6 | | The Black Dahlia Murder Unhallowed
Death defines and gives meaning to life. This album is the tale of the unhallowed, or death. Human influence is deceptive to the true nature of things, and this album highlights everything carnal in this world. | 7 | | Parkway Drive Killing With A Smile
Besides taking song titles from Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels... This album hits home every time I listen to it. Maybe the album title is apt, since it doesn't slaughter like Slayer or fuck shit up like Slipknot, but it does kill. Been there done that can be said. | 8 | | Arch Enemy Doomsday Machine
My first time listening to this album, I could not believe that it was a female at vocals... Now this album is encapsulated on my wall for being my real break through to modern Melo-Death. | 9 | | Amon Amarth With Oden on Our Side
Listening to the intro to this album, Vahall Awaits Me is pretty fucking epic and sets the stage for the entire album. This band makes me feel like a viking if thats fucking possible, that comment might just be drugs talking but who knows... | 10 | | As Blood Runs Black Allegiance
Im a social-anarchist, and this album just fucking strikes home with all the fury in my heart. Listen to My Fears Have Become Phobias or The Brighter Side of Suffering; come to understanding (enlightenment or revelation however you want to call it) and experience my world. | |

11.12.09 | nice | Mordecai.
11.12.09 | 7 is fun, as is 9, but quintessential? Sir, you just won the hyperbole of the day award. | TheHamburgerman
11.12.09 | It may have quintessential to him, stupid. I would say, try listening to power metal. It's the logical next step in terms of quality. | Mordecai.
11.12.09 | English isn't your first language is it? | bloc
11.12.09 | either that or he's the lyricist for a brocore band. | Bullitt
11.12.09 | Brocore lol. | PhantomLord
11.13.09 | quintessential as in the perfect embodiment of how my life has gone reflected by albums... And most of the albums are in a linear function because my ears either digress or progress - however your view of music is. |
