| Top 30 Artists By Song Count (as of 11-09-09)
Because I know you guys care, here's a list of the top 30 artists in my collection ranked by how many tracks I have by them. If a single "song" is broken up into tracks on a c.d., each track is counted individually (*cough*TheIncident*cough*SixDegrees*cough*). Also, for your curiosity, the number of full albums I own by the band. | 1 | Bad Religion 217
1 album duplicated 11 times. | 2 | Thrice 121
9 albums, including a live album | 3 | Eminem 103
5 albums, of which only three matter. | 4 | Nine Inch Nails 101
6 albums, including 'Ghosts', which has a fuck-ton of songs | 5 | Red Hot Chili Peppers 83
3 albums, including a double-album | 6 | In Flames 75
6 albums | 7 | Dream Theater 72
7 albums, including a double album | 8 | System of a Down 67
5 albums, including a b-sides album (that happens to be better than some of their "real" albums...) | 9 | Boysetsfire 65
4 albums, including a b-sides album | 10 | As I Lay Dying 58
4 albums, including a b-sides album | 11 | Porcupine Tree 58
4 albums, including a double-album...or rather, a one-point-five-album | 12 | Mae 57
4 albums...(because the so-called "EP"'s are longer time-wise than some of Bad Religion's LP's). | 13 | A.F.I. 56
4 albums | 14 | Dredg 56
See above | 15 | Blindside 55
...and again. | 16 | Smashing Pumpkins 53
3 albums, including a double-album | 17 | Coldplay 52
3 albums of gay (including a live album), and one of righteousness | 18 | Johnny Cash 51
2 live albums | 19 | Offspring 51
3 albums (DON'T PICK UP THE SOAP, IT'S BAD FOR YOU) | 20 | Anberlin 50
4 albums | 21 | Deftones 48
4 albums (better be 6 by February of next year or I'll be pissed) | 22 | Foo Fighters 48
3 albums, including a double-album | 23 | Muse 48
4 albums, none of which will probably end up on best-of lists this year | 24 | Brand New 46
4 albums | 25 | Underoath 46
4 albums, even though they only have three in my eyes... | 26 | The Used 46
4 albums, including a live album | 27 | Notorious B.I.G. 45
2 albums, including a double-album | 28 | He Is Legend 44
4 albums, because I consider '91025' an LP | 29 | Demon Hunter 43
3 albums | 30 | Pink Floyd 43
3 albums, including a double album. They're the reason I included 30 artists. | |

11.10.09 | Why would I make this list at 3:00 a.m. CST? Don't know...
Anyways, yeah. These are based off the songs counts in both my iTunes and Zune players. Seriously, I didn't realize I had so many In Flames songs... | Mordecai.
11.10.09 | [q] Underoath
46
4 albums, even though they only have three in my eyes... [/q]
ignorant | Deviant.
11.10.09 | Wait a second, i've only got 58 boysetsfire songs.
WTF? | Masochist
11.10.09 | Mordecai - Not ignorant, opinion. I don't like their first three and I don't hear anything about their first three anywhere (except 'The Changing of Times' sometimes). I'd rather focus on their albums from 'They're Only Chasing Safety' on...
AKIRA - It's sometimes considered an EP
Deviant - LOL...'Before The Eulogy', 'After The Eulogy', 'TCT', 'Misery Index', and a handful of other B-sides and rarities like "Never Surrender," "Dear George" and "Plague"
Dryden - You're right. But 'Steal This Album!' is better than 'Hypnotize' IMO. | Deviant.
11.10.09 | Random 1 off songs ya mean? I can live with that
My Dream Theater fanboy emerges: I've got 196 songs.... | Masochist
11.10.09 | Hahaha...got me there! I don't have NEAR that many songs by them. I do love them, though... | Deviant.
11.10.09 | I heard a rumour that there was a remastered copy of BsF's The Day The Sun Went Out floating around. Know of anything? | Masochist
11.10.09 | Wikipedia says it was re-released in 2005 remastered. I see that album all the time at Hot Topic and such...might check there. | Piglet
11.10.09 | why do i see no Opeth? haha... my most tracks are
172 - Black Sabbath
144 - Metallica
123 - Slayer
112 - Slipknot
yeah, i am embarassed at the slipknot bit | Deviant.
11.10.09 | yeah, wiki is wiki though.
Can't find any information on it anyhere else though, except on Amazon it shows some copies as being released in '97 and some in '03, but doesn't mention remaster at all. | Masochist
11.10.09 | Found a source from Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Day-Sun-Went-Out/dp/B000BC8SLU):
"Before releasing their next full-length next year Boysetsfire wanted their most treasured releases, The Day The Sun Went Out, Consider 7" and In Chrysalis EP back in print again. Released separately as two CDs, these will be available to fans that never had the chance to hear these groundbreaking songs. Remastered, remixed and including bonus cuts never heard before, this is the time for fans to remember one of hardcore’s pioneers. 2005 is here and its time to see Boysetsfire remembered for what they contributed to music...." | Deviant.
11.10.09 | I can't be bothered putting these into order, but while we're all at it:
Megadeth-181
Metallica-132
NIN-196
Opeth-69
Poison The Well-54
The Smashing Pumpkins-96
Symphony X-48
Thrice-101
Fear Factory-100 | Deviant.
11.10.09 | And bought!
In Chrysalis is soooo good, don't know how I missed that!
You should be proud of me, everyone's favourite new female user now thinks that After The Eulogy is sex to the ears.
Another satisfied customer!
Cheers for the link broseph | Masochist
11.10.09 | No problem! Suppose I ought to check out their debut one day...but I'm still letting 'After The Eulogy' sink in :-P. | mareep
11.10.09 | my top is Radiohead - 466 | Masochist
11.10.09 | Oh...and yes, I am proud of you. Boysetsfire love should be spread all around, methinks ;-). What will you rec after that one? | Deviant.
11.10.09 | It's by no means bad, but a remaster would help it go down a lot smoother.
There's a Motley Crue cover thrown in for shits and giggles too, it's pretty sweet.
Anywho i'm out, it's midnight here in kiwiland and I got work in the morn.
Catch ya later man | Masochist
11.10.09 | mareep - Okay, even after the studio albums, live albums, b-sides and ep's...how the hell does ANY band have that many tracks to give!? Even at an average of 13 songs per album, that's still at nearly 36 albums you have to own. Perhaps bootlegs, then... | mareep
11.10.09 | I have a 10 album compilation called Towering Above The Rest which includes stuff like a live performance of Lucky with Michael Stipe as the lead singer, remixes of various songs and a cover of Rhinestone Cowboy.
also have a lotta live stuff, and all their albums.
oh yeah and got a lotta deadmau5 - 204 | Mordecai.
11.10.09 | fuck yeah, love the deadmau5 | mareep
11.10.09 | oh and a fuckload of floyd - 283 | Masochist
11.10.09 | Damn, man...as you can see, there's only one band who I have over 200 songs for, and only four that top 100. Couldn't imagine having near 500 for a band...geez! | Masochist
11.10.09 | I definitely need more Floyd, though... | Deviant.
11.10.09 | Damm, 204 Deadmau5?
I've only got the 2 studio albums myself | Inveigh
11.10.09 | I'm not at home, so I'm not exactly sure, but I've checked this before and I know that tops in my iTunes is:
Metallica
Megadeth
Mac Lethal
Atmosphere
MF Doom
There are bands I like more, they just don't have the extensive discogrophy's yet (Thrice, Poison the Well, Deftones).
Also, dude, you know Deftones already have 6 albums out, right? They're supposed to put out a 7th by February 2010 and Eros is shelved indefinitely (that would be 8). I suggest checking out some of their other material if you need a 'tones fix. | cvlts
11.10.09 | lol 17. 3 albums of gay?haha | Masochist
11.10.09 | Inveigh - I don't have 'Adrenaline' (but I do have "Bored"), and I don't have the B-Sides album. I heard from a news post here that they were definitely going to release 'Eros' at some point, as well as the other new album. I'm hoping both come out before the end of February, and neither get pushed back (again...). | Inveigh
11.10.09 | I saw the news post about a possible 2009 Deftones album, but that's been pushed back to February. I don't think they have any time frame for Eros right now (at least that's what I saw in a post on some other site, www.theprp.com maybe?)
If you don't have Adrenaline or the B-Sides and Rarities album, you should definitely pick both of those up. Bored is a good song, but there are far better ones on that album (it used to be my favorite Deftones, now it's tied for 3rd w/ SNW) and the B-Sides has some excellent stuff on it. Plus, it comes with an awesome DVD that has all their music videos and live stuff as well. | Masochist
11.10.09 | I suppose I'll need to grab 'Adrenaline' someday, considering it's the only studio LP I don't have by the band, and I do love them so....
REBORN--LEFT TO SIGH
RECURE--MAYBE I'LL BE BORN
AND SIMPLIFY THE WAY I LIE, BEFORE
I GET BORED! | Deviant.
11.10.09 | Birthmark is the best song on Adrenaline imo | Inveigh
11.10.09 | ^YES. Deviant for the win! | Deviant.
11.10.09 | It makes you fly, yes i'll lie
God i'll even lick her fucking picture
In whole, drinks won't stain this BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTHH | Inveigh
11.10.09 | drink one more so I can blow right in her.... | Deviant.
11.10.09 | IN SPITE I STILL LIE!!!! | Masochist
11.10.09 | Chevelle? Odd...but if you're curious, I have 34 tracks by them, which MIGHT put them in the top 50. |
