11.01.09 | Come on, the name for 9 can't be THAT hard to type... |
RobotFrank

11.01.09 | I would have 8 and 9 way higher, plus I think pornography is a bit overrated but whatever it's a Cure list good job |

11.01.09 | Pornography is a very therapeutic album. When I was younger and my emotions matched its sound - there was no other record that could invoke those feelings. If you're a generally happy person, I'd imagine you can't even hear what's happening on Siamese Twins and The Figurehead. You have to be in a bad place to feel that record. Or at least, I was. |
LiquidVelvet
11.01.09 | I'd have 8 and 6 higher, and 2 a LITTLE lower, but that's just me |
RobotFrank
11.01.09 | Fair question. That album never really did anything for me, crazy as it may sound. I've always thought of it as The Cure before they found their sound. Three Imaginary Boys is the only track on there that really sounds, to me, like what they would become. But you're right to call me out on it - because it's the only one I don't actually own (I've only borrowed) and I could be off in my perception of it. Perhaps it's time to give it another go... |

11.01.09 | 1 rules. I really need to get some of their other albums. |

11.01.09 | "I've always thought of it as The Cure before they found their sound"
But The Cure don't really have a concrete sound. I'd say the jump between Pornography and the three singles that followed is one of the biggest stylistic leaps in modern music |

11.01.09 | every album they do is different than the previous, it's just the way they do |

11.01.09 | 11 should be higher
and imo 1 and 2 would be flipped |
RobotFrank
11.01.09 | Very true, Titan.. I've always looked at it like they have two sounds in opposition of each other. They really started exploring the darker side of what they can do with Seventeen Seconds and then took it so far with Pornography that they had to do an about face by releasing Let's Go to Bed and subsequent singles. To me, Three Imaginary Boys predates both of these and doesn't much resemble either. But like I said, I need to give it another go. It's been years since I've given it a proper listen.
I also think Wild Mood Swings is better than it gets credit for. "Want" is so superior to anything on the last two releases - and even the more pop singles are really good in comparison ("Strange Attraction," "The 13th"). I actually long for the days of WMS. |

11.01.09 | Disintegration is the best album, ever. |

11.01.09 | The Head on the Door should be higher. |
The Computer
11.02.09 | I'm starting to like 1 more than 2... |
