Desert Island Discs
If I had to live on a Desert Island, with a CD player I guess, then these would be my 10 favourite original albums of choice. |
1 | | Michael Jackson Thriller
This album is about as close to a perfect album as anyone has come, IMO. |
2 | | Elliott Smith XO
Difficult to say whether this is better than Either/Or, its certainly more consistent. One of the best albums Ive ever heard, well obviously! |
3 | | The Beatles Revolver
I was always going to put a Beatles album, and even though it doesnt have alot of their best songs, its their most consistent album for me. Abbey Road is better at the start but Lennon was right about leaving off the last couple of tracks. |
4 | | Alanis Morissette Jagged Little Pill
Couldn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t really escape this album in 1995. Not one I listen to much anymore but its still classic, not really a bad track. |
5 | | James Taylor Classic Songs
Ok this isnt an original album but Rolling Stone has heaps of hits collections on their list. This is the definitive Taylor compilation, not sure its even available anymore. Possibly the best singer songwriter ever...well with Eliott Smith. |
6 | | Michael Jackson Bad
Not as good as Thriller but just as fun. Couldn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t really be without this album either on a desert island. Always lifts my mood. |
7 | | Oasis Whats the Story Morning Glory
Another massive album from 1995 and similarly one that doesnt grace my CD much anymore but still one of the albums I asscoiate with growing up just like Thriller and the rest of these albusm really. |
8 | | Incubus Morning View
Just as good as SCIENCE or Make Yourself really but its probably my favourite for its chilled out lyrics and karma like quality. |
9 | | John Mayer Room For Squares
Probably the hardest album to put in. I was considering a RHCP album or Weezer or even Mayers second album, but for summer of 2003 this album was the only thing I listned to and it was a better summer for it. |
10 | | Michael Jackson Dangerous
This album does have 3 songs I just plain don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like but the other 12 are superb. His most mature and creative album and most underrated. Not perfect but has too many great songs to leave it out. |
