| Isis Suxxx!
just kidding! Here's some of my favourite musical climaxes at the
moment. Recs are welcome. | 1 | Isis Wills Dissolve
5:59 - onwards. A chuggy guitar fill leads into a crushing finish to an epic song. | 2 | Nine Inch Nails The Great Destroyer
1:39 - onwards. Love the layered vocals leading into the glitchy breakdown | 3 | Mastodon Megalodon
1:20 - 2:22. Great instrumental break. The country-ish guitar lick leading into the main riff here
makes it so
much more effective. | 4 | The Dillinger Escape Plan Sunshine the Werewolf
2:06 - 3:36. So awesome live when he does the whole firebreathing thing | 5 | dredg The Canyon Behind Her
3:17 - onwards. The ethereal guitar suddenly drops out and turns into punchy heaviness, then goes
back
to a verse and slowly builds up to the final chorus and climax with the choir-like background vocals.
Just
gorgeous. | 6 | Frodus The Earth isn't Humming
1:33 - 2:35. I love the riffs in this section, especially the bass line at 1:58 | 7 | Gojira Where Dragons Dwell
3:47 - onwards. Best song off From Mars to Sirius other than Ocean Planet | 8 | Suffocation Suspended in Tribulation
1:06 - 1:28 and 5:34 to end, such a great breakdown | 9 | Converge Concubine
0:56 - onwards. I think this is my favourite breakdown at the moment. | 10 | Envy Color of Fetters
4:52 - 6:38. The vocals just kick you in the balls after a few minutes of ambience. I can't understand
Japanese but this guy is such an emotional vocalist | |

06.15.09 | Isis's instrumental parts are awesome! Vox annoy the shit out of me. Stops me from liking the band. | Mordecai.
06.15.09 | Yeah hes not the best vocalist, but his voice is fairly unique, and i think they suite the music | GBJ
06.15.09 | I definitely agree with you on 1, and probably 9 too because I'm a converge whore.
Circle Takes The Square - A Crater To Cough In has one of the climaxes I can think of. Also, Tesseract - Concealing Fate part 1 | kitsch
06.15.09 | kill the switch is better
isis does suck | OllieS
06.15.09 | Words can't describe Isis, they're that awesome. Also, if the vocals annoy you listen to Oceanic or Panopticon - they're lower in the mix than on their 2 most recent ones. | Mordecai.
06.15.09 | @philly: or just listen to Pelican cause they are like Isis without vocals | Mordecai.
06.15.09 | @GBJ: haven't heard Tesseract, what are they like?
@kitsch: Isis do not suck, you suck | InFiction
12.06.09 | I thought you were serious for a moment there. If you did hate Isis, I would have to kill you :P | TRMshadow
12.06.09 | I'm with InFic, I was about to kill you when I saw the title, but now everyone here except kitsch are my new best friends. | thebhoy
12.06.09 | Threshold of Transformation has a really epic climax as well. | Prophet178
12.06.09 | Neurosis > Anything Isis have ever done. | qwe3

12.06.09 | I know tha truth. | eternium
12.06.09 | 1. Isis is amazing. The vocals are annoying at first, but you get used to them and they do match the music.
2. End the Ghost Trail by Cult of Luna is simply the best thing ever. | eternium
