Guilty Pleasures

Inspired by another user's list. Totally un-true bands I find appealing.

This is my favorite band. My favorite genres are death and thrash metal, but I've been a Slipknot fan for quite a while. They were the first heavy band I got into, if it were not for them, I would not have gotten into metal. I still love them, I don't care if it means I'll never fit in on sites like Metal-Archives, I love this band.
2Stone Sour

A fine hard rock band imo. See also: Slipknot.
3Five Finger Death Punch

I don't love this band like I used to, but I still believe "The Bleeding" is fucking epic. Their lyrics suck, but the music is good, in your face metal.

I only like about 10 Korn songs, but I don't think they're that bad. Yeah, they gave birth to nu-metal, but I can't help but love songs like "Blind" and "Freak On A Leash".
5Bullet For My Valentine

They have a few gems. They're not brilliant by any means, far from it, but they're not an awful band.
6System Of A Down

This was my favorite band for the longest time, and I still love their music. "Toxicity" is such an amazing album.
7American Head Charge

Damn fine industrial/nu-metal band. The War Of Art was one of the first heavy albums I ever got into.
8Lamb Of God

This is just a damn good band. That's all there is to it. "Ashes Of The Wake" is nearly flawless.

Good, thrashy metalcore. "Resurrection" is fantastic.
10All That Remains

Metalcore done right.

Very hit or miss, they have some fantastic stuff, some really shitty stuff, and some ok stuff. Don't listen to them much anymore, but when I do, I enjoy what I'm hearing.

Deftones and Korn are alike in that they've both written some amazing songs, but overall they're not a band that makes albums I'd listen to from start to finish without getting bored. Really love the tracks "Change", "Bored", "Passenger", etc.

I hate this band for the most part, but I also find some of their material to be enjoyable. "My Immortal" and "Lithium" are two extremely catchy songs I can't help but like.

First female-fronted band I got into. They've produced some great stuff, and some not so great stuff.

Love this band, have since I first heard them. Can't wait for the next album.
16Dimmu Borgir

I'm quick to bash Dimmu, but I secretly think they're kinda sorta ok. Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse and Puritania are awesome imo.

See: Korn, Deftones.
