Recent Takes and Digs
1Dope
Blood Money Part Zer0

Downloaded this for free from Dope's website prior to seeing them live. Unfortunately, don't think they played one song off of this. But this is a pretty tight and more mature (for Dope) album.
2Disturbed
Divisive

Haters hate - but I've been an OG fan since their first album/nu-metal days. Good album - picked up at a local Barnes & Noble on sale.
3Otep
The_Ascension

Haters hate - but Otep (along with Kittie) really set the stage for the strong female-led, harsh-vocal bands we have nowadays. Got this one off of eBay. But, also recently found/bought House of Secrets from Sound Exchange in Tampa, FL.
4Kittie
Oracle

Speaking of Kittie - finally obtained this hard-to-find album from Sound Exchange in Tampa Bay, FL.
5The Dillinger Escape Plan
Ire Works

Found this album at HIS Music in Cumming, GA for $3. Hadn't heard too much of this band, but knew what to expect. Didn't disappoint.
6Pitch Black Forecast
As the World Burns

After seeing Mushroomhead Live - Wanted to hear what else J Mann (currently on hiatus) was working on.
7Ventana
The Nature of Betrayal

Similarly - After seeing Mushroomhead Live - Wanted to see what the current touring lead singer of Mushroomhead's true band sounds like.
8Ascension of the Watchers
Translations: Apocrypha Remixed

After seeing Fear Factory live - have been jonesing for some Burton Bell vocals. A great album, barring a few misses (i.e., A Wolf Interlude). Wished the remixes were a bit heavier though.
9Divine Heresy
Bleed the Fifth

Similarly - after seeing Fear Factory live - have been jonesing for some Dino Cazares guitarwork. Missed this band back in the day. Also forgot that Tommy Vext is a vocalist with great range.
10Pitchshifter
www.pitchshifter.com

Since seeing Fear Factory and Static-X live - have been in a heavy industrial phase. Picked this up for $3 at a local thrift store. Genius.
11Bad Wolves
Disobey

On the subject of Tommy Vext…Haters hate - but this album's pretty badass - in a similar vein to the first 5FDP album (and you know it was badass folks). Had streamed it years ago - and finally picked it up from Sound Exchange in Tampa Bay, FL, along with N.A.T.I.O.N. (a lesser and much more mainstream album of theirs).
12Darkest Hour
The Human Romance

Sometimes you just need to bludgeon the ears with some metalcore. Found this for $1 from Bad Obsession in Savannah, GA.
13Light the Torch
The Beauty of Destruction

SAA. Always loved Howard Jones' vocals. Got this from Sound Exchange in Tampa Bay, FL for $5.
14Megadeth
Dystopia

While I'm on the subject of $5. Also purchased this at Bad Obsession in Savannah, GA. They had quite the hard rock/metal collection - so I also had to pick up a few more...
15Rush
Clockwork Angels

...Including this one - also for $5 - and perhaps Rush's best album in the 1990's and 2000's. A Rush album that metal heads can embrace.
16Kobra and the Lotus
Prevail I

...and this one for $5. Bad Obsession fed my bad obsession. Somehow have missed out on this band.
17The Agonist
Five

Also found this album for $6 at Sound Exchange in Tampa Bay, FL. Haters hate - but VIcky is a more-than-suitable replacement for Allisa and shines in this album. Supporting instrumentation is sometimes stock though.
18Black Sabbath
The End (Live)

Found the BluRay at Bad Obsession, along with the Angelic Sessions, for $15. I can't pass up live Black Sabbath.
