02.03.23 | Damn right - can’t promise a live Tool DVD and provide a crystal skull (for the 1% to buy) instead. |

02.03.23 | But what about people like me who love Tool but generally can't stand prog metal otherwise? 🤔 |
JDubb
02.03.23 | @JKing92, These 3 bands are much more aligned with Tool than Dream Theater. Wankery is at a minimum. |
JKing92
02.03.23 | Well, I'll certainly say that's a promising sign. I generally associate prog metal with the miserable likes of Opeth, Meshuggah, and, yes, Dream Theater, all of whom I loathe beyond words, so the noodling being at a minimum promises that I'll probably like them more than those three bands (see also: why I prefer Dave Matthews Band to a lot of jam bands). |

02.03.23 | everyone compares Tool to prog bands but I always thought the most fit comparison was Kyuss. Maybe just for the first two albums anyway |

02.03.23 | Tool are the most overrated band ever anyway, they're good but not anywhere near deserving of the simping they get |

02.03.23 | the cult following is unnecessary yeah |

02.03.23 | All these pale on tool. Cool stuff tho. Who s Freak trying to bait? .!. |

02.04.23 | Early Tool and Kyuss (or Quicksand also) are like the chicken and the egg. Debatable who came first - but I definitely hear some Demon Cleaner in Tool (or vice versa). |
