Sniff 11.28.22	Current Kill Count: 1171 albums. Projected Kill Count: 1300 albums. Rating of Year: 3.21 AOTY: Gospel - The Loser There was a lot of good stuff, but I don't feel like I'm ending the year with as many mind-blowing albums as I have in previous years. That being said I did listen to less stuff this year than previous years.
Demon of the Fall 11.28.22	I’m hitting a nice even 200, won’t be checking much more Decent year, not the greatest and I have minor regrets, but the better shit is probably yet to properly marinate (or be found)
DoofDoof 11.28.22	I've listened to 340 albums from 2022 Thought the year was incredible, four 5 ratings from me which is really unusual for any year since the '90s. Clearly was a 'backlog factor' from Covid - most bands who are still active released something this year, and a lot of presumed defunct bands came back and released stuff too. I'd rate the year a 4.47 or something My album of the year was the 40 Watt Sun
DavidYowi 11.28.22	Current Kill Count: 86 Projected Kill Count: maybe 100 but honestly I’m cool with 86 Rating Year: 3.3 AOTY: Faceless Burial - At the Foothills of Deliration This year was alright but disappointing compared to 2021 to 2020. A lot of the most anticipated records I was looking forward to this year were still good but underwhelming, and I gave less 4.5s and 5s than I was hoping to. Then again most of the stuff that I listened to this year that I got super invested in were old records, so maybe I should’ve paid more attention to the new releases this year.
bludngorevidal 11.28.22	Current/Projected: 234/234. I hit 541 last year, pumped the brakes this year, and plan on listening to under 100 next year. I'm tryna spend more quality time with fewer albums. Year Rating: 3.5/5 A relatively high proportion of the new releases I checked this year were solid-to-great, but I attribute that to spending less time trawling Bandcamp for hidden gems than I did in 2021. Ergo, fewer duds. There wasn't as much in 2022 that will be entering my perma rotation, with the exceptions being the new Weyes Blood, Gospel, Callous Daoboys, Beths, and a small number of others. 2021 was such a strong year, I would have not been shocked 12 months ago if you told me 2022 would be a letdown in comparison.
gschwen 11.28.22	Current Kill count: 445-- proj ~470. That's a pretty heavy year for me, but I did that number last year. Avg 2.5 (but that's by design). Not the best year, maybe a 2 right now? 2018 was probably a 5 year for me. AOTY is gonna be Cheem's Guilty Pleasure. White Lung is lurking though.

(i'm really bad at remembering to rate things anymore) first year since like 2017 i've closely followed new releases, think this was a great year found roughly like 15-20 i'll prob spin to death in the coming years thinking i'm settling on celebrity therapist as my aoty

mkmusic1995 11.28.22	Current Kill Count: 446 Projected: 460 Rating of the Year: 4/5 This year was extremely solid, found a lot of new artists that I thoroughly enjoyed. Kind of discovered new genres and expanded my tastes which proved to be the most important thing for me considering that heavy music was becoming a bit stale for me. This was probably the most music I've listened to for a given year on top of all the older music I explored as well. AOTY: Ethel Cain - "Preacher's Daughter"
Zac124 11.28.22	Current Kill Count: 96 (only albums I have listened to released this year) Projected Kill Count: 100 Rating of the Year: The average is 3.33 Rather solid year for music overall but it was especially great for Mathcore with Thoughtcrimes, The Callous Daoboys, Greyhaven etc. Also listened to a lot of random stuff I found through Sputnik this year which I have never really did before so I discovered lots of great albums and artists that otherwise would have went unnoticed. AOTY: Black Midi - Hellfire (although Celebrity Therapist is also tempting to put here because Star Baby).
artificialbox 11.28.22	lol I only listened to like 45 albums that were released this year. I spent a majority of the year revisiting and exploring older stuff as well as listening to comedy podcasts. highest choice for AOTY right now is probably newest Greyhaven or Counterparts albums

rabidfish 11.28.22	haven't been keeping a lot of track of all the stuff i've listened to from this year specifically. Maybe around 100 albums/EPs/mixtapes? 'bout that. As I grow older I feel my patience for new music i don't like immediately waver a lot. I just don't give a chance to stuff that doesn't grip me anymore, so that affects my numbers, ig. Rating for the year: Pretty good. Some cool stuff dropped this year, some of which i've been anticipating. AOTY so far: need to come back to some of the 1/4 stuff, but I pick Organ Tapes, just cuz i think he deserves the attention.

Avg rating: idk; it’s rare I’ll rate albums and when I do I don’t post them here though I’d like to start contributing more…sample size is definitely too big for whatever my avg is to be indicative of the overall quality of music this year tho. AOTY: Ethel Cain - Preacher’s Daughter. Hauntingly beautiful…my gf/best friend/“forever” died a drug related death in April (at 26y/o; unintentional and an anomalous case; talked on the phone hours before she convulsed and soon after went brain-dead). Listened to Preachers Daughter in bed, the day her plug was pulled; whole album is dark but “A House in Nebraska” DESTROYED me and was the most cathartic listening experience I’ve had ever..listened to the album a lot for a couple months; very difficult to return to now. But, like, still, though. People already said that one; tied is Ashenspire - “ Hostile Architecture;” so beautiful musically and honestly fills the void that GY!BE left after “don’t bend.” Also, a lot of escapism this year has been in self-education regarding systemic injustice and leftism; strikes a huge cord lyrically.

bgillesp 11.29.22	133 so far for me. Maybe estimate 140. Used to hit over 300 each year but I’m more selective now since I have less free time. Pretty good year overall so far, maybe 4/5 year AOTY currently sits as Soul Glo- Diaspora Problems
