12.16.08 | Add The Carrier and this is MY iPOD. Great List man. | Masochist
12.16.08 | Ignoring the superiority of the Zune over the iPod, here I go with why this list is pure winjuice:
#1 - Nice choice, though "Paper Airplanes (Makeshift Wings)" has been getting more plays
#4 - "Forsaken"!
#6 - "Burn It Down" is great one. "Almost Easy" has annoyingly been stuck in my head for a while now...
#11 - I like Circa, though these aren't my songs of choice
#21 - Good songs, but "Peace Frogs" is by far the most played song for me
#22 - Can't win 'em all...:-/
#23 - "Octavarium" = INSTANT WIN. It's one of the most played DT songs I've got, which is saying something since I've been digging three of their c.d.'s all damn year (I just discovered them this year). Every time I hear that song, there's something new! Also, all the 'Images and Words' and 'Metro. Pt. II' songs are ace.
*(Cont'd Below) | Masochist
12.16.08 | #36 - INSTANT WIN again. ANY song by these guys. That bass in "The Creature Walks," man...damn!
#41 - I still need to check these guys out. They seem right up my alley...
#42 - One of my favorite songs by him and his band, even if it is just a cover.
#45 - Kashmir. 'Nuff said.
#48 - Fan, much? I don't have a single one of their c.d.'s, but "Cygnus..." has been making its rounds lately
#51 - Just took a listen to "Orion" about 10 mins. ago, coincidentally
#54 - INSTANT WIN x4. Muse is like Dream Theater: discovered them this year, love them, have three c.d.'s, all are astounding. "Stockholm Syndrome" is nothing short of epic, and it's not even their best song!
#55 - "Disconnecktie..."...what a song! Oh, what a song! If it comes on and I'm in the mood, I can't do anything else but listen...it's powerful!
#60 - Damn right, INSTANT WIN. Don't even have to look at the songs, though I'm slightly disappointed by the lack of "Welcome to the Machine." I suppose "Shine On..." makes up for it.
#67 - HA! I like the Peppers, of course, but you chose three of my six favorite songs from my favorite c.d. of theirs (the other two are "Can't Stop," "Midnight" and "On Mercury"). You're good...oh, yes, you're good.
#68 - I once called that song "the Chuck Norris of music," and said that I would put it on a playlist to put my 3-year-old nephew to sleep. Yeah. It's that's damn awesome.
#70 - That would be me. Who the hell takes this much time out to comment on a list???
#73 - Bad Religion FTW!
#77 - I want their live c.d. so badly! And "The Flags of Dawn" should've never been a B-side; it ranks among their best ever.
#81 - "Too Bright To See..." is one of the absolute best songs I've ever heard from the Christian Hard Rock/Metal/Metalcore genre.
#83 - I like The Used, but I'm not familiar with this song.
Anyways...that list was nothing short of epic. Absolutely.
BUT!...
Based on some of the other artists on the list, you seem to be missing a few bands. Not saying you probably don't have them on your 'pod, but I'd figure they might be getting some playtime, as well. These include:
-Bad Religion
-Demon Hunter
-King Crimson
-mewithout You
-Senses Fail
-A Wilhelm Scream
-anything with MF DOOM, Talib Kwali or Mos Def
Just my opinions. Oh...and welcome to Sputnik ;-)! | Masochist
12.16.08 | Well, it was accidentally cut out, but #33 is an ace choice, as well! | SynGates
12.16.08 | no way in hell is zune > ipod. | Masochist
12.17.08 | ^^^ Damn right, it is! The interface is a lot easier, it's got a much bigger screen, and it's better suited for games. About the only thing that's better about the iPod is the volume.
iTunes, on the other hand, is VASTLY superior to the Zune Player, even moreso because of the latter's lack of Last.fm compatibility. I really can't stand the Zune Player, but its what I use because I love my Zune.
(By the way, I'm talking relative--80 GB Zune > 80 GB iPod; 8 GB Zune > 8 GB iPod, etc.) |
