Bjork
Recently, I dove into Bjork's discography never having listened to her prior after years of interest. Here are my findings for one of my new favorite artists! Ranked Bjork! Yay! |
10 | | Bjork Fossora
Bjork's most recent record is enjoyable but doesn't quite live up to the standards of her previous work. It's still very fun and unique but they feel like outtakes from her last three records. The lyrics don't really do a great job of diving into the topics she tries to tackle but nevertheless, I still had a good time with this. 3.5/5 |
9 | | Bjork Biophilia
A great record but there are lulls in the track list that make it feel like you're trudging along at times. 3.8/5 |
8 | | Bjork Utopia
Flute heavy instrumentals and more of Bjork's amazing vocal passages. It's a bit overlong and feels it's length at times. 4/5 |
7 | | Bjork Volta
Seems to be viewed as her lesser record but I found it extremely endearing with some really good lyrical content and vocal performances. Instrumentally it's a bit all over the place but I enjoy that. 4/5 |
6 | | Bjork Homogenic
A fan favorite and for good reason, it's incredibly good at times but does have a couple not as great songs in my opinion so it lowers the score. It's still very well written and performed, Bjork's voice sounds in her prime on this one. 4/5 |
5 | | Bjork Medulla
Recorded almost entirely with just vocals, an absolute triumphant record and truly masterful in its originality. It's weird, eclectic, fun and filled with soulful performances. 4.5/5 |
4 | | Bjork Post
An extension of the debut record with some added quirkiness but still excellently written and performed. Some of her biggest hits to date grace this record as well. 4.5/5 |
3 | | Bjork Vulnicura
A heartbreaking sonic adventure into her mental state before, during and after a divorce. It's instrumentally potent and considerably more personal that some of her other work around this time. 5/5 |
2 | | Bjork Debut
A stunning debut record with hints of house, dance pop and a mix of her eclectic progressive and experimental stylings that define her later work. It's a bit more straightforward but it's well written and extremely fun! 5/5 |
1 | | Bjork Vespertine
Gorgeous, brilliant, sensual, dignified. The perfect record. 5/5 |
