06.20.22 | I've always been somewhat averse to reunions. In my opinion, bands always break up when they should. How many phoned-in, done-only-for-a-quick-paycheck reunions have we seen? Far too many, if you ask me. While I admit there have been some shockingly good subversions of this (in particular, Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down seem to still have at least some of their old magic remaining, and that Cream reunion from 2005 or so was surprisingly solid), too often, I find that many reunions of bands I like end up not delivering, winding up as marginal epilogues to otherwise great careers. | JeetJeet
06.20.22 | I would sacrifice soooo many bands just to hear 6 reform and put out another album. | pizzamachine
06.20.22 | Oh, that’s why 7 never pops up 😒 | bloc
06.20.22 | Great great great list. Lots of these bands bring on some nice nostalgia | pizzamachine

06.21.22 | @JKing92 for sure there are some definite cash-grab reunions that always end up being weaker versions of a band's glory days. Names like Underoath, Refused and At The Drive-In immediately come to mind. Like you say though there are also fantastic comebacks and I can think of a few more off the top of my head like Failure, Hum, Swans, Aphex Twin and Dinosaur Jr. There are some bands that, like you say, break up at the right time (bands like Isis and Dirge for example) and listening to those bands' back catalogue doesn't leave me dissatisfied or yearning for more, hence why I didn't include Isis on this list, but then contrastingly bands like Textures, Fellsilent and Means End have works that feel a bit incomplete to me (Textures literally had a whole album lined up to be released not long after their now final record but that album got canned with the band's breakup announcement). Admittedly not all the bands I included in this list are like that, some are just me being nostalgic and wanting to see bands live that I've never got the opportunity to see. | Koris
